I feel the same - I have done a lot of research - google permaculture - it is much easier to let nature do the work for you - Mulch and compost and supposedly can forget tilling ( which is hard work) also check out heirloom seeds
Composting is a great way to begin building the nutrients in your soil. Get to know the growing season for your area. Self watering containers work great especially if starting out.

Hmmm.....i think it was here on YT that some scientific study indicated the human mind "reads" the first and last letter of a phrase, doesn't matter in what order the letters are, for example take Youtube, if spelled Yuotbue, most ppl. will associate the misspelled word with the correct word.
My mom mostly buys organic, and we live in the country... so there is a vegetable garden in our backyard... she has a strawberry patch too! I don't really know what I'd do without these things!
sad to hear, a few people of my family died of cancer to. It has nothing to do with the food then though (in your case) people get cancer from all kinds of reasons... Its sad 1/3 people get it :S:S kinda sick if you think about it

all farms were organic 60 years ago, and couldnt produce enough food then!. until pesticides. also people are living longer than ever before, this is not down to organic food. yeah go and plant some veg in your garden and watch how they get diseases and eaten by fly.

my grandparents only ate organic food and they both died of cancer. This isn't going to stop me from growing organic food though
