It's Possible Flies Get Mistaken for "rods", that does not explain the ir views of rods in our atmosphere i.e. NASA's own research videos of the famous tether incident clearly showing rods and orbs as people call them, flying around showing intelligence and curiosity. So these things do exist. As far as this vid I'd have to say I think these are two flies getting it on, shutterspeed illusion, SORRY.

Orbs are anything that is reflecting light and out of focus causing a circular looking object(dust, bugs, debris). Rods are ANYTHING that moves fast in front of a camera that is too slow to record a smooth image of it (bugs, birds,airplanes, debris). Study modern photography and you see rods and orbs everywhere (backyards,in the sky,your bathroom and even in outer space).....SORRY...lol

well, thought it was all camera tricks or mistakes, however, my husband & I saw this "bug" over the summer. Looked like a big flying centipede of sorts. Clear-white color. Made a soft hyper fluttering noise. We both stood there amazed! Later I showed him YT videos of it. Must be a new type of insect. They are discovering new species all over the planet, so why not?

Rods are just bugs. Since video cameras operate using CCDs at a frame rate of 29.97fps, the speed of the bug in flight makes them look rod shaped and the figure-8 complex motion of their wings makes the odd swirl pattern.

If you get fooled by this, no wonder people still think crop circles are made by aliens.

Hold on there, partner! I'm with you on the rods. Video artifacts because it's PLAUSIBlE as an explanation. But crop cirles are another animal. YES, people create some, but some have physical changes the the plant material on MANY levels not shown in control samples. Aliens? I have no idea. Show me how people change the plants and I'll be with you there too.
