I don't see what the fuss is. He can play sure but it did not sound that great considering the work that went into it. Technical vs. Sound.... hmmmmmm... SOUND!!! Syn, Alexi, and Friedman are better. this is truly one of the greatest solos ...it contains in some way the evolution of guitar ..starting with simple but pretty phrases..moving toward ..country and rock and then fusion/classical and finally jazz...if you learned this entire solo you would enough guitar for a life time of performance..it may even outline Johns development...he is such a fine player
