Omg, that kid reminds so much about me when I was at that age. Today I wish that I had done more in my table tennis. I remember all the nice days I had when I won contest against adults. Keep going kid. Don't ever stop. You will regret it so much.
I like the shot selection when he turns from forehand to back hand, some he punches, some he blocks and some he plays big loops to.
Good to see he is starting to develop his serves. Keep working on it, along with the third ball (he does not want to be a loop only guy, like the two of us :-) ; he needs a smash!) Many a big box of balls etc.
Take for example chimpanzees they can do many things at 8.3 years! For example a 10 year old chimp have enough experience to build a hut on a tree! It won't be very comfy there but still! Its a pity that they live only 30-40 years!
is he already playing competition? You should let him do that. Also you should let him train loops most. Timo boll could play this good on his 6th so he has some stuff to do!
@maxk880 Timo is an amazing player who has put in a great deal of hard work to get where he is today. I'm sure there are many other players of a similar ability to Fred around Europe all aiming to get somewhere near to the top and even some others who have yet to play the game. One or two may make it, and lots of others won't. The chances that it will be Fred are quite slim, but it could be him.
@jamfreddie Yeah, and it doesn't help that he was born in America. But if your son keeps up with it, I can see him going above 2500 by the time he is 18.
Unfortunately , in America, that's where you start stabilizing. Won't have players challenging enough to bring you to the 2700 lvl where serious international competition begins.
i wish he was my IittIe bro

Looks like he's moving better and using his free arm a little more. Nice!
Thanks for the update. It would be fun to see some tournament footage.

@jamfreddie /watch?v=xzn4kv9NhxU Look where he's 6 years old he's at least as good as freddie and his backhand is faster
maxk880 7 months ago
@maxk880 You also need to take into account the fact that Timo is fed slow high bouncing balls to one position in the clip and Fred isn't.

@jamfreddie So we will see fred in the german bundesliga when he's 15?
maxk880 7 months ago

Because if it's not what Fred wants, then he isn't going to push it.
That and he's keeping a reality check on himself, no matter how much we praise Fred, he understands the limitations within our sport.
