I used marijuana to help treat nerve pain I have from my back. It worked great. Even though I had a heart attack at 38, it was because of hormone replacement therapy, which also weakened my bones and rotted my teeth out. I was not told to quit smoking weed, in fact I was told that weed may help me recover faster. And it did. Now I can't smoke weed because I am in a pain clinic and they drug test for all drugs, especially marijuana. If I get caught, I will lose my pain meds forever.

People could grow the plant themselves yes, but you can grow your own tobacco plant and roll you own cigarettes too, but how many people do you see doing that? @jadedtiffa My point is is that the price has to go down significantly in order to eliminate the incentive drug cartels have to sell pot. If there is a high price, they will still be involved, and if they are involved you can be sure that murder and the imprisonment of nonviolent people will follow.
It's about supply and demand. Think about the price of alcohol after prohibition ended. The biggest fan of prohibition was Al Capone.

There is no way a street dealer can do it cheaper. Professional farms can produce far more product which drives down costs. When is the last time you could buy a loaf of bread from a street dealer cheaper than from a store? You couldn't even bake that bread for the cost you bought it for since the bulk was so high. Anyone buy beer from their neighbors private brewery? It's legal to make beer at home, but is it cheaper?

I used marijuana to help treat nerve pain I have from my back. It worked great. Even though I had a heart attack at 38, it was because of hormone replacement therapy, which also weakened my bones and rotted my teeth out. I was not told to quit smoking weed, in fact I was told that weed may help me recover faster. And it did. Now I can't smoke weed because I am in a pain clinic and they drug test for all drugs, especially marijuana. If I get caught, I will lose my pain meds forever.

Very well, I have almost 8 years by know smoking 5 joints per week and I'm fine, I also don't believe that marijuana takes you to try more stronger drugs, that bullshit, why don't legalize and take the taxes that it can provide, if money is want they want, certainly they can get a lot by legalizing, better use the money for health care that drug wars. and that's a fact.

Love it. So many stupid people in my class believe its worse than heroine... Ive smoked it a few times and I'm perfectly healthy, intelligent and all that. I know a guy who has been smoking it for over 3 years and he is doing really good at school and is in sports. Legalize this stuff... And why would you go to a dealer to buy it for 5x the price you get it at coffeeshops? I get a gram of weed for 4,50 euros at a coffeeshop but while back home I got a gram for 35 euros.
