i do this look all the time, i got it from the same youtube video :)

if you have thin hair or short layers, or both like myself, you can curl the ends or do spirals all over beforehand, and pull the entire pony through rather than leaving it looped like she did. it looks very chic, especially if you put a little flower or whatever other hair accessory you have in the middle of the twisty part.
