Hmm, a vid that makes me think, as well as smile. Yeah I think some people get to feel really good when they show acceptance of gay guys, but in truth don't get it at all, and it's how the tone of the song strikes me. As for M/A, it's deliberately kept ambiguous by the writers, so each person can see the "icon" they want. Friendship is VERY important, a prince/king doesn't get many friends. But that doesn't mean they can't ALSO be romantic ("Everything I do is for him" - not for Camelot...)

@TheNinjasaur I won't deny it, but they take after Kirk/Spock, who were also a bit BDSM - but the writers/directors kept it subtle, under the censors' radar back then. I like M/A because it's not obvious either, unless you read in. This means the kiddies can be wonderfully corrupted, hahaha. I have really fond memories of my Batman and Robin series, and it was very cool I knew something my folks didn't. I felt empowered. It's not the same "obvious" category as "Queer as folk" for instance.
