Every Vietnamese are afraid to say the truth. They say the party line, to do otherwise can get them killed. There has been no reconcilliation between North and South. The Southerners never felt as US puppets, US was there a short time and the second Indochina war lasted from 1954-75. The North used full scale war to conquer the South and it only succeeded because the US stopped supporting SV with weapons, fuel, replacement parts, etc while China and Russia sent billions to NV.
South Vietnam fought against the North from 1945 until 1975 the US was only there from 1965-1973. We equiped the South Vietnamese with all those weapons but they never took them from US forces, they took them from South Vietnamese forces. You people need to do a little research instead of blabbing your mouths with anti-American propaganda. Look for the truth instead of lies and myths that support nothing but bullshit. North Vietnamese slaughtered Cambodians and Laotians that wanted freedom.
There is no point in being aggressive and insulting, xuixuanxui, because that kind of attitude only harms your cause and makes it appear that you are trying to spread another kind of propaganda. I know my history and I can tell you that there are many other exhibits in this museum which have not been featured in the video. It is certainly true that many innocent people were killed in this war, but not just by the North Vietnamese. Why don't you visit the museum and then give us your views?
@travelingcompanions You are an idiot. There were no US forces in Vietnam in 1975. When the communists say glorious victory I would like you to see what it looks like for real. North Vietnamese tanks were running over fleeing South Vietnamese refugees and unarmed ARVN troops with their tanks on the roads. Their tanks treads became unserviceable with skull, skin, bones and maggots ground into them, they had to drive into rivers to wash them out.
Check your facts, tientienlao. The US was in Vietnam for about 25 years and there were still military forces there in 1975, when the Embassy in Saigon was over-run. China stopped supporting the NV in 1970. At the end, the SV had many more armaments than the NV, although they I agree they did not have enough fuel. I've seen Vietnam for real, tientienlao, just a few months ago, and I know they have been fighting off invaders for more than 100 years. Go read Wikipedia, or something.
@travelingcompanions The myths and lies about US involvement in Vietnam angers us Vets that lived it. What we saw and what we see presented as facts or truth angers us greatly. I see idiots support the Vietnamese communists and haven't a clue as to the insane treatment of the Vietnamese people by the party. They blame the US for wrongs never done or done by the NVA/VC. Millions of NV people never received notice of their sons deaths for propaganda reasons.
I'm a Brit, xuixuanxui, probably about the same age as you. I studied that war quite closely, because I could so easily have been there. So I feel for you and all your memories. Yes, I'm sure the VC did some dreadful things. But I was just reporting on what I saw at this museum, because it was interesting. And, like I said, the strange thing was that we were the only people there. The Vietnamese don't seem to be interested in it any more.

DEATH TO AMERICA

This war ended a while ago, Hamodyxxx0, and I don't think America has attacked Canada recently, at least not militarily.
