@StephM1982 We plant them in there every year at 9"-12" with some occasionally going 14"+ (most are over 10"). We figure if they can get past anglers even one year they will be some tanks ;-) We plant very few though because it's expensive to buy them that size.
@MrWhiltetail yeah it was a nice surprise to see a brookie in here. I saw all the DNR data showing what was stocked in here and I didn't think I would have much luck catching a brookie. This was quite a bit upstream from where they're stocked. I've always heard that brook trout are good indicator species of how healthy the stream is and it just goes to show that Crockery is a great stream. Thanks for planting them!
@StephM1982 The DNR data is just basic. We spread them out. Mostly upstream. I would ask where you were fishing, but not a good idea on youtube!!! LOL I hope you catch one that has been in there for a year (or more!). They should add at least 5" of growth their first year in there. It would be cool if you could get a 15"-18" out of there. I wish the DNR would plant them in there. We (the Ravenna Conservation Club) have to pay for them.
