The Title of Shaikh-ul-Islam was not given to hime by Pakistanis but by Arabic Theology authorities. His books, especially the one called Minhaj-us-Sawi is taught in Al-Azhar University. The preface page of Minhaj-us-Sawi is written by Shaikh ul Azhar As-Shaikh Tantawi. So The Authoritativeness of Shaikh-ul-Islam Dr Prof Muhmmad Tahir-ul-Qadri is also beyond the borders of Pakistan and India.

Qadianis do this as they see him as the biggest threat to the Qadiani religion as he has wrote numerous books and given many detailed lectures which destroy the Qadiani religion
