I did the ride from key west to california . from texas to california i ride part of the classic route 66 , going to grand canyon . the original plan heading alaska , i consider its not the proper time because of the winter. how muc did it cost in total? like lodging food and all that stuff. repairs ect? were most of the roads paved or dirt? :)

thanks! i don't know about the money, I was a student at that time so it was pretty cheap, and we slept always outside for free. We paid for food and gas (+rear tire), that's about it. I would say less than $1500, and I am talking 19.000 km & 6 weeks.

80% paved, 20% dirt
