  • WOW! Who knew that Ronald MacDonald's Twin could sign?

  • i hope 618 isnt your area code. or your from east st.louis which would explain.

  • the n goes before the g!

  • SHE USES TANGERINE.........

  • you know, when i first heard it i was like... that's soo simple. then i hated it because i didn't think of it first. and by the third listen i could actually appreciate the song. flaming lips are geniuses.

  • i didnt know people were stupid enough to spell carrot wrong!

  • well obviously your stupid and dont appreciate good music! let me guess your the kind of guy who plays call of duty 5 all day?

    yea thought as much!

  • i finally found the song

  • I lurv this song !!

  • dildo?

  • the end is stupid :p

  • TRIPPY!!!

  • cool i never heard this side of them

  • you know what, i take that back, apparently, they're three different people.

  • well now they are. in the past they were upwards of 6 or 7

  • yeah they are, lol. if you listen to the song. so three different people are'nt that bright.

  • she doesn't sound too attractive, either. what with being all pukey from eating vasoline, having a nice ink/snot mixture coming from her nose and fruit chunks in her hair.

  • this is a catchy song but this girl doesnt sound very bright

  • i hope shes hot though. sounds hot

  • haha yeah your right... but the song gets kinda annouying

  • It's probably not very healthy to eat vaseline on your toast.

  • prove it!

    :D

  • Hell YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This just put a massive smile on my face and set me up for the day. Thankyou Flaming Lips.

  • he sounds like perry farrell too

  • Wayne kinda sounds like Syd Barrett..

  • is the lead singer the same one that sings for the chemical brothers song "golden path"?

  • this song always makes me laugh, its perfect for making you feel better

  • cool. try BJM.

  • is that still the same lead singer

  • It is Wayne Coyne, who is the singer on all albums except their 1st one (Mark Coyne, Wayne's bro). So, in this video it is Wayne, the song is from Transmissions From the Satellite Heart which is like their 3rd or 4th.

  • I remember walking around the Oklahoma University Campus and seeing the Flaming Lips flyers taped to light poles way back in the mid to late 80's when I was in High School thinking what a strange name for a band but it works and they rock!

  • Am I imagining it or is the guitar riff similar to that in another popular song? I'm stumped as to what it is, any help?

  • It sounds a bit like Chemical World by Blur.

  • love these guys!

  • soo psychedelic i love this kind of music. its not normal alternative rock, its got a bubblegum acid sound to it

  • bubblegum acid ?!haha thats a good sub genere cool ill pioneer it help me im a marker with paralisis and schizoid personality disorder

  • What cd is this on?

  • transmissions from the satellite heart

  • LOL

    yeah

    no (C)Rap

  • oh shit i remeber this one from wayyy back in the 90s

  • I know when music was still good eh

  • nah the guy with the red hair is mark coyne

    wayne's brother

  • No Mark left the band after their 1st album, and also he didn't play guitar. I'm 95% sure it's Wayne because it looks and sounds like him and couldn't really be anybody else.

  • somebody build a time machine and take us back to the 90s.......I love this Fing song.

  • hahaha the guy with the red hair kinda looks like carrot top!!

  • is the guy with red hair wayne? lol

  • tparlin- you are an idiot

Re-this song.......I love it and Im so glad they came back to life. Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard is on their latest album. I had this song in my head all afternoon after seeing a girl with tangerine hair.

    xxx

  • Dear dipshit,

Do you honestly think everyone has the same music tastes as you? Do you honestly think whats horrible in your ears is also horrible to other people's?

For example: to me you are one of the worst pseudointellectuals commenting on this video, and in your mind you are witty.

Speaking on decline of musicianship, this is an old song and does not represent current trends.

You may like intricate guitar solos, I may like playing along with the Holberg, we're different.

  • Thank you so bloody much for that. It was plain genius.

  • lol. but thats the point. its so bad its actually good.

  • Wow, brought me back to the 10th grade!

  • well does door hinge rhyme with orange?

  • love the 90s! alot of the music was so random but so awesome. now music is random and shitty.

  • ah, we all miss the nineties don't we? I mean truly, t'was an era of creative music~ ^^ Thumb's up for what it's worth~

  • and who says "orange" does not rhyme with anything?

    it rhymes with "store".

  • "orange" also rhymes with "lozenge" as in "I've got a really sore throat, I could use a lozenge!" Wa-hey!!!!!!

  • i realize that the end of this song is equall to the end of animal collective's song "who could win a rabbit?"

  • a friend told me they're considered one hit wonders cause of this songs. didnt belief him though they have a big repertoir of hits on my list.

  • a friend told me zeppelin were 1 hit wonders..can you pick the hit?

  • lol

  • I love the flaming lips

  • Espera, espera, espera. ¿No debería ser She doesn't use jelly?

  • what are yall's favorite songs from the flaming lips?

  • lightning strikes the postman

    she don't use jelly

chewing the apple of your eye

    kims watermelon gun

  • It's amazing how much they've changed and how Wayne's grown as a lyricist.

  • That boys and girls, is what's called

    "A stoner song"

  • the flaming lips are awesome. this is definately their best album though.

  • this and clouds taste metallic

  • agreed! this is one of the most iconic sounds of the 90's

  • *a classic* from my late teen years!

  • I LoVe ThEm

  • I just love Wayne, and dont come with comments about me beeing gay, cause im not, he´s just so cool

  • MAN they're amazing live.

  • Hey beavis, is this college music?

    Yeh! Yeh!

  • Wayne Coyne is such a gentleman! wow, what a great song...I watched the fearless freaks dvd last night, i might be mistaken but i think he said this song was full of sexual innuendos or something to that affect.

  • "Sexual innuendos"...gee, ya think? lol...

  • Really?

    I didn't pick them up...

  • Great to song to trip jeje I mean good vibe and colors jeje

  • 3 odd summers ago I smoked a joint for the first time and this was the first song I heard after completely by coinidence right???? RIGHT??????? RIGHT GUYS????????

  • this + peaches by PotUSA = ultimate summer tunage :D

  • kemikade is definately right

  • Love this.

  • can't believe i forgot about this song until 5 minutes ago.

  • Lymbo you put way to much into it bro. Its music ok, your like that guys dad that crashes a party once it gets goin. richard.

  • Oh their best song. mm luv it!!

  • Grunge is in fact a form of alternative music. Its defined by power chords, simple structure and loud, fuzz distorted sound, as well as a rejection to rockstar cliches such as stage show and fancy indumentary. I understand this being compared to punk music, since its rawly produced and performed, but no way: punk contents are radically opposite, as well as fashion and lifestyle.

Grunge is more free conceptually, grunge can be about anything... can be about fucking vasoline.

  • i don't care what you'd call it.

big smile for the flaming lips!

  • my cousins kyle and alania in oklahoma say they know you nephew who is also y cousins friend

  • wow is that wayne singing? he looks so different

  • i would call this grunge

  • I consider this a punk band because it was a band with their own individualistic sound. Not because of the way they look.

  • good point. two bands like Disturbed or Red Hot Chili peppers are good but NOT punk-just rock which is more pop-oriented. Would you call Marilyn Manson punk? maybe "Goth" but if you look a Siouxie Bauhaus or Sonic Youth -they are kind of both (not to mention they make him look like a poser-sorry if I offended anyone -he just gets on my nerves I don't know why)

  • Don't worry about offending people you have the right to your opinions. I would call Manson a pseudo-intellectual who is nothing original, special or worth mentioning to future generations. What did he really do? Regurgitate antics, fashion and music from the past? His last few hits were cover songs. He's an entertainer, not an artist known more for bizarre rumors than any of his music.

  • If anything of worth came out of a Marilyn Manson album, you can be sure that Trent Reznor put it there...lol

  • Naw this is alternative rock before people fucked it up and had to start calling it punk. Cause it doesn't deserve to be in the same cataglory with this stuff.

  • Actually it was puck then poeple stated calling the seattle grunge scene "Alternative"

-and they in turn cited their punk influences, then everything started to get blurred. ALot of 80's stuff got mashed into "punk" and "new-wave" back then too.

It's probably about marketing. I would blame the radio stations at least in the US for being so committed to the "format" and the sponsors and doing so much "statistical" research about what they think "we" want to hear.

  • One of the last punk bands!

  • when i first heard of these dudes, i thought they were just to bizarre for me. Then I realized, they, along with Talking Heads, made weirdness cool. Damn, these dudes RULE.

The WAND just continues in their anti conformity in your face fucked up ness.

I would love to see these dudes live. Anyone have any concert info on them?

  • thank god wierdness did not die with the 80's -It's unfortunate there isn't enough. Too many Rock/pop try to be "bad-ass" or look like pretty boys.

  • dude,

right on! There is nothing with bad ass and pretty boys if that is what u genuinely are and u are talented. It is the posers that piss me off. The American Idol bullshit that has permeated our culture. Like we really have to depend on a bloke like Simon to tell us what is good? That dude could not gauge talent if he had it shoved up his arse sphincter. As for weird, like I said, Talking Heads and Flaming Lips blazed the way. Actually, Bowie and Lennon set the standard.

  • Sweet song.

  • if he said he liked it, why does he need therapy?

  • ye it was great we were fishing when all of a sudden he sliped his hand down the front of my pants a touched me i then kised him he then started touching me and the he took out his dick stick and slowly put it up my ass giving great pain while he touched my big jucy breasts and there on the side of that river in the grass i had the best moment of my life when a came with pain screaming in that grass he showes more interst in my younger sister now causes she has bigger breasts and a tighter pussy

  • You win. Epic.

You've won years therapy, but you still have to pay... so you lose.

    Winning is great, ain't it?

  • That is the most disturbing thing I've ever heard...

  • They Fuckin Rock!!!!!1

  • i love his hair in those times (:

  • He uses tangerines!

  • I know right? after he said "she uses ta-a-aaan-geriines" you'd look at his hair and be like "Well that's probably what wayne uses. After all, you can see his hair's orange"

  • haha why has everyone thumbed my comment about his hair in this video? it looks great, all i said is that i like his hair better now.

  • lol the first time i heard this song, i was listening to the buzz and i was like wtf???? haha the lyrics are so weird

  • god damn icant wait for wakarusa
