  • Yes, this is a really dumb thing to do. That being said I have done this before.

  • Also, if you have an air compressor with a handheld tip, blow that motor out really well.

  • deadly

  • you must grow alot of weed

  • LOL Quake 2 fans

  • i have tried this, OK??

  • narrated by happy gilmore

  • 2:40, no need to thank me

  • been there done that and yes it does work.

  • I thought the blades were gonna fly off at the end :/

  • looks like my greenhouse fan. (keep your mind out of the gutter)

  • right... that is what i need to cool my computer... can i buy it? how much?

  • thats a real fan boy :P

  • you cold or something?

  • Words you don't often hear on a video of an electric fan -

    "Where's my cat?"

    LOL

  • Best to sand the shaft with emery then some oil will pull off easilly with motor TURNED OFF and for more safety wires disconnected

  • 0:25 hia cat XDD squirrell!!

  • what was he trying to show us his cat ,his old fan,or was he checking his cammera does it works or not ,,,waisted our time

  • I once caught my fingers on an old car radiator fan with metal blades while it was on, It f**king hurt!! i wish i had been videoing it, could have been a big sick You Tube hit, but i wouldn't wish it on anyone, it hurts and makes a bloody mess! ....Be carefull with fans!

  • How come you get to try it?

  • I like Turtles

  • Dont .......... the cat ,,,,,,,ventilator !

  • Mate - Your video's are a LONG way from Ed Systems...but still watchable.

  • @DasBootII lmfao. i was being lazy in this vid :D

  • 2:25 where is my hammer?

  • The end of the shaft has a pilot hole in it,a three legged puller should be used to remove the fan,the blade hub itself appears strong enough.Using his method not only are you risking the rotating shaft snatching and driving the fan round, losing your fingers in the process, but the spinning shaft will wear the hole is the fan, possibly making it a loose fit when you have cleaned it up,

  • thats how my old cpu cooler used to sound like

  • M8 please take the cat out of ure mouth while speaking!

  • if u take tha cat, so f*ck You!

  • вените мне две минуты жизни.автора видео под гусиницы Т-34 положить и переехать.такая пупасть а не видео

  • I think I just buy a brand new V4 Turbo Diesel powered fan instead of that old crap

  • who films themselves doing this kinda shit? And why am I watching this?

  • mad?

  • Using the right tools for one would be a start, ever heared of a hub puller????

  • @bendyben35 i have herd of/used them before i just dont have one but i should get one. lol.

  • @V8Jagnut Could have used lube/oil on the shaft to remove the blade too.

  • @bendyben35 No, I never "heared" of it. But I heard I of a hub puller before.

  • love the cat

  • you sir have balls

  • nie wiem czy wiesz ale od tego są ściągacze

  • spray it with pb blaster.

  • А шпонку где проебал?

  • Couldn't afford a puller, eh?

  • sure dont make em like they used to

  • thats got to be the unsafest way to do it. if it caught your hand would've been humonburger!

  • Don't breath this!

  • i just lost 2:40 minutes of my life watching this crap

  • That seems pretty dangerous because if you messed up the shaft and you pull it to that area it might catch and spin it harder then you can hold and cut your fingers off. I've had my furnace sieze up on the shaft before. I just used some penetrating oil on it waited about 10 minutes then held the shaft while i turned the blades and it came unstuck in a snap.

  • why the fuck did i watch this ?

  • @Fraganistan likewise...

  • Why so many downvotes? You verified first that the blades moved independently of the shaft, and I'd imagine you were in a position to get your hands out of the way if you were overcome by the torque. One upvote for me, good sir. Thanks for the video!

  • 0:27 the rottor is like "Feed me a stray cat!" :D

  • don't try this? only way to get blades off without ending up breaking something

  • @fairyheli2 dont try this is more a safety thing. if i were to say try this and some one cut their hands off trying it they could blame me.lol

  • @V8Jagnut

All part of the stupid disclaimer crap.

  • @fedorauser1003 year its all bull shit now. i should change the name of the vid. :D

  • I use to try it.Until I took an arrow to the knee.

  • dont try it? shit ive done it

  • Crap! Thought you were going to toss the cat into the blades.

  • @oldfart387

I thought he was going to stop the fan with his tounge.

  • rchtcywd

  • Nice computer fan...

  • مزرعة مراوح عندك ماشالله .. شو بطعميهم

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my God .You sound like Aussie 50 s younger brother Are you related?

  • I have done this before. Makes it easy.

  • I'll put the camera down and use two hands :)

  • Don't try this, huh?

    CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

  • thats not a good idea

  • Make the cat into chowder with the fan.

  • whew, that mother fuckers tight.

  • Great video.

I like the way you get that fan blade off.

  • o m g well a least we know your not a mech. by trade. but we do know what you are? and that a bit confussed. you took all the guarding off. pulled the fan off, showing off your quailty ways of thinking. just admireable. you pretty much had the hard part done. why not finish the job when you went that far? hell a couple of sealed bearings what mabe 6202 in the front 6203 in the back.. if there wasnt no machine work involved. you can bet on machine work now. it wont last long running.

  • lol good way to cold weld a fan hub to a shaft if its not lubricated with anti-sieze, even then it may do it.

    U need a sprocket remover :D

  • @Aussie50 lol trying to pull it (very well lubed and sanded) and it was trying to cold weld itself. so i tried the way i normally do it and it still would not come past the 1/2 way point. so i lubed the balls off it and did what i did. if it wear a alloy hub on steel shaft it would not have been so easy.lmao

  • just file down the motor shaft to remove rust and corrosion and it makes the blades come off easy.

  • @1944johndeerel lol i did that and sanded it too. i just wanted it done quick.

  • Cool method. I estimate that 99.9% of the time, I'm removing the fan blade because the motor doesn't work. I'm still using the other methods most of the time.

  • @PutSome5tankOnIt lol yer thats a prob. some times you can get lucky.

  • Man your crazy id be wearing some mesh gloves at least fingers dont grow back :P

  • @253UC lol ther is not the HP the cut my fingers off from startup.

  • @253UC domestic fan motors have almost zero starting torque, even my little drill press can be stopped with a bare hand.

  • If that motor ever goes, I'm sure you have another! I love this stuff.

  • @Metalcastr yer i think i could fing something to use.lmao

  • Much better than it used to be :) What do you do for the weather getting in? rain, heat ect? Good vid.

  • @mattyvt93 @mattyvt93 thanks. no rain get in that fan and for wind/hot/cold i have a wood sheet that go infront of it that blocks 95% airflow.

  • @V8Jagnut ahh cool, fair enough.

  • wow that fan is older than dirt! I really need one of those things for my shop! cool removal method^^

  • @coolbluelights lol it is old. all shops should have a big fan. yer i take blades off that way alot when needed..(low HP motors)

  • still has some bareing noise but much better

  • @itscool1968 yer the bearings a a bit pitted but at least its not dragging a ball now.lol
