One of the great joys in life is finding a youtuber whom you had never heard of before and is little known and to go through all of their videos and be amazed by their epicness :) DFTBA
As a fan of the Avengers and.... not-a-fan of the Republican candidates, I can say that this video is eerily apt and freaking hilarious. Rick Perry as The Hulk... :D
And I will now need to find several photos of shirtless Robert Downey Jr. to get the image of Romney!Iron Man out of my head.
@TheShayneproductions OhhhhshootyoumeantMittRomney. Yup. I can see it. (To be fair, arrows are somewhat phallic themselves, and there is a little bit of red-covered arrow on the edge of it that might blend in but makes it look more arrow-y. I think.)
@TheDayGamers I'm sorry! It's really something I've been trying to fix. Sort of a bad habit - it makes my videos a lot more interesting for some, but difficult to watch for others.
Why do you hate the Avengers so much? Did they kill your dog?
OK, you really *are* a glutton for punishment. I think we should use Deadpool as your metaphorical stand-in. Watching every Rep. debate would probably violate the Geneva Convention. Oh yeah, we don't follow that any longer.
Well, Santorum is a boob.
I also keep track of this pack of vermin. Not a fan if you couldn't tell. Of course, I insult vermin the world over with that remark. I apologize to the vermin.
@NatalieZenaLouise I've been thinking about doing more videos about politics (and the issues discussed) - perhaps more seriously - but I haven't quite decided.
haha, I really like the concept of this video :D Unfortunately I don't know that much about the people that you presented here apart from their names and the dumb or silly stuff they have said/done during the campaigns, because that's the only type of information we get over here. I should probably show some more interest but since it's difficult to keep up with Belgian politics I'm going to sit this one out until there are fewer candidates left.
@nenalyzed That's probably very wise. And in fairness, I'm really not much acquainted with Belgian government at all. All I've got is king, cabinet (equally French and Dutch), and di Rupio without googling : /
I want to thank you because this actually helped me understand the republican candidates alot better! I have a really hard time understanding politics but a really easy time understanding film. So this was a comparison I really got. Keep it up Cate!
I see being gay as a (not curable) disease because probably it was not the intention of nature, but as a former member of the German Liberal Party I know a lot of gay people who are not visibly gay. I cannot see any reason for them not to serve in a army. Gleefully I am happy to not know who Rick Satoram is and to lazy to search. Good Buy for now, it was a pleasure.
@TheMinuteVlog [gayness] The most striking aspect in the definition of disease, for me, is not that it needs be healed, it needs not, but I find this term (disease) okay (while not very good), if somebody just wants to points out that it is not a problem, but also not normal or the ideal of nature. For I example I accept homosexual couples to adopt children, but only under extra-difficult tests about their social qualification, because no, it's not totally normal, IMHO only hetro-sexuality is.
@ladresde Wait, why is it unnatural or abnormal? I mean, nearly every animal species displays that behavior, humans included. Look at the giraffe, which spends most of its sexual life hooking up with the same species. From an evolutionary standpoint it is very good to have some members of a species that are exclusively involved in relations with nonreproducing members, as this allows for adoption by a parent-like couple.
Also from what I've seen I'd say bi- or pansexuality is the norm.
@TheMinuteVlog Okay then ;-) Unnatural & Abnormal is what I actually said using not natural & not normal, but as it seems to me as an advanced learner of English, not normal sounds less judging than abnormal, We could discuss this endlessly, who wants to be normal ? Me not. I am something like 99% heterosexual and 1% bi, I can imagine that training can change the ratio, but I would not see sense in it, for me, others can do what they have fun with, but it will never be norm for normals. ;-)
@ladresde That's not fine. It's rude and close-minded. Only about 17% of people are completely heterosexual. Sexuality is a natural spectrum and that doesn't count asexual or pansexual people. People are different.
oops, I forgot my comment. What has this country come to when gays can serve openly in the military and Rick Santoram has breasts? (bro, this is a Rick Perri reference, #notactuallyhomophobic)
Catee makes me feel the need to improve my English, I always used to think it's good enough, our company has translators for this, and I am more on the francophone trip, but today I started to enlarge my English vocabulary base, for the first time after years. Pittesburg seems to be the American Dresden, I just watch a funicular railway and read about the climate. Mhm, I never wanted to live in the US, what about Europe (Germany, France, Czech Republic (Prague)) ? Upps, back to whatever topic !
God, I love your videos. You have great delivery. Your voice is saying, "I am completely 100% serious," while your words are saying, "lol no I'm not," as with most of your videos (Tom and Harry, anyone?). Just, great satire. Tbh, I get excited when I see you in my sub box.
These communication experts, educated or natural talents, won't tell you straightly what to vote. They would rather use comedy to build up a fan base and become a hub-node of subtle influencers. Often they are kind of irresistible when on the right side.
See, now if politics was explained to me like THIS all of the time, I'd totally pay attention to it, and I don't even like superheroes. Also, you need to stop making me produce odd girlish laughing noises this late at night; it's unhealthy for my family's sleep patterns. (;
@elisabethsusername I imagine it wouldn't be a very interesting conversationalist. It mostly just thinks about how much you could fit behind that guy from Merlin's ears if you needed to smuggle family heirlooms out of Soviet Russia.
I must admit, I think that this video could be the catalyst for a brand new, life altering puppet show, entitled: "Candidates Say the Darndest Things", involving paper doll avengers, and lots and lots of sound effects.
You could be a semi-pro ? (Probably not) I just read about the phenomenon in the US and China, which is not known here in Germany yet. Typically these are attractive young woman who are paid (small money) to spread their opinion and discuss it. It will be your voting and we'll accept every choice but here Obama still is the US preference of just all political parties in the parliament. (Christian Conservatives, Social Democrats, Greens, Socialists, Liberals)
@shawnski001 Or - and I had this thought of this after I uploaded - if she walked up and said, "Hey, are you guys bi? By which I mean, bipartisan!" Because, like. Yes.
@TheJollynerd Not sure which is he, so - Huntsman is brilliant every time he waggles his left eyebrow. Which is often. I don't always agree with him, but he's incredibly intelligent and unwilling to pander, and I really respect him for it. As for the Hawkeye choice - I'm not sure if the character's smart, but it was more metaphorical. Like Hawkeye ALWAYS hits his targets, just like Huntsman. Also: Hawkeye is the first Avenger to be inducted into the Justice League, which gave me secret glee.
Great video, and fascinating parallels! I'm Canadian, so I mainly focus on my own government and politics, but considering how large of an impact the US has on Canada I try my best to stay up to date. This was a really interesting video, and I hope you can do one with The Justice League ! I noticed you didn't have anyone cast as Batman or the Flash ..
@DarkenedYeastExtract Hahaha. You mean the audio? I wanted it to be as silly as possible. There as even a bit where it sounded like Rick was coughing up something, but I cut it out.
@cateematthews No, I mean the... whole... event... *shudder*, In all seriousness you're pretty good at telling some pretty complex things simply. Also I'm Australian, so I had no, real, interest in American Politics. Best Wishes.
I don't know what people you would expect to unsubscribe. If I could, I'd subscribe a second, third, and fourth time. I, too, am quite partial to the Justice League- back in 2008, I had a big thing for Batman, although I did transfer my loyalties to Superman when Batman did the same.
@DukeofYar I've had a few, but not as much as many as I was suspecting. I think it was mainly that I was scared that people would be super offended or something, but everyone seems to be taking it well : )
