Penny was better than Kobe to me. He was an all around player. I'd prefer Penny over Kobe. The only thing is,...he never won a title and Kobe has. But Kobe had Shaq when he was at his best. Penny didn't
just when things look like its falling apart on offense for the bulls, it's pippen or rodman picking up the offensive rebound and saving possession. The fact is the bulls are a complete team capable of beating you with "intangibles", with or without a lot of stats like PTS and REB.
And look at how many great players. Rodman is by far the best rebounder i've ever seen. Check out how quick he gets up and how well he boxes out his man. IMO, Penny may have been better than Kobe was during the 3peat. He was one of the best playmakers I've ever seen at that size, he could defend, hit 3's, post up and he was a hell of a finisher. And how about Jordan's mastery? Getting open with excellent off the ball movement and knocking down j's like clockwork.
shaqs offensive skills are overrated. He just bulldozes over people and pushes them around and officials let him get away with it. His offensive arsenal is little and its always been his size and athleticism that got him shots on the offensive end and not skills. Physically shaq is the greatest center to ever play. I never seen a guy that big who can move like he did. I wouldnt put him as the greatest center though.
@dv122 Nah, Shaq's offensive skills were great. Check out his great passing in this video and his footwork and low post moves were among the best you'll see from a big man. Especially once he went to the Lakers and he had the turnaround one-handed jumpers(often shot baseline), jump hooks, spin moves and up and unders(usually finished with power dunks). The only skills he didn't have that you'd want from a center are a faceup jumpshot and free throw shooting and really only the FT shooting.
@dv122 I have always believed what you say. I wish more people would recognize this. Shaq was a hack who never had any skills: couldn't shoot free throws, couldn't shoot a jumper or a three, couldn't even dribble the ball down the court! He was just big and intimidating, that was it!

the best part is that hakeem humiliated shaq in the 95 finals. He just danced all over him, i've never seen one center with so many moves.

@dv122 How about Shaq's spin move, that spin was a nice offence skill and very quick. Dwight never have that kind of fast spin
