Now it's nothing but trash for preteen girls. Anne Sweeney is to blame for all this, talking the reason why was to entertain and to make money. Then at least get rid of Disney XD and make Classic Disney Channel or just give us a new sister channel dedicated to the true fans!

Dude, I totally remember this... I mean I remember getting this for my 2nd birthday. Or something, but all I remember is that its very old, and i was very young!! I think i still have that tape somewhere... But yeah when i was younger, i used to have dreams of him and becoming him. Lol mediocre, but it still brings back precious memories :)

I am so much grateful, thank you for posting one of 2 my favorite films from childhood! It's unforgettable for me till these days. important part of my 'childhood heritage'.. It's interesting that I also remember that ending, but really intensively. This moving moment, this film build something, way of feeling.. love and yearning, no matter how ridiculous and strange it may seem.

ah! My VCR ate the tape and nearly destroyed it! Now the sound track is compleatly off when I try and record parts. Is there anything I can do to fix that?
To be honest, sadly, no. Its a great shame that this happened. What I am going to do is this - I have video editing equipment which can send the whole of this clip out frame by frame (and there is 5652 frames!). I can edit each damaged frame manually by redrawing the damaged bits, and then re-animate the whole piece and put the soundtrack back on. Sounds complicated, but it can be done.
I will send you bits as I re-animate them, if you want. Will take about a month to do.
as crazy as this sounds, try using an older VCR. we have some tapes that our old vcr plays perfectly but if we try them in the new vcr/dvd combo machine it has terrible quality.
You know that really is true, a lot of the new combo VCRs don't play old video that well like the earlier ones. But it has to be one that been taken care of so it doesn't eat the tape you know?
Wow! I, too, saw this... on TV. As a kid, I thought a lot of toon movies had cool music. Still do. This was one song I had totally forgotten I loved. "What a guy... What a bear". Very sweet. I accidentally recorded the film many years ago when it was shown in the UK. The animation was pretty poor but the character development, voice acting & score were outstanding, & I re-watched & enjoyed it many a time. It stayed with me through the years, I performed a slightly modified version of the song for my GCSE music exam at 15!
In case you are interested, the film is Dutch in origin, made in 1991 and called "Beertje Sebastiaan: De Geheime Opdracht". Most of the animation frames were drawn and coloured in China. I wish they would release this on dvd, the only way to get it in English is to buy a second hand vhs copy, Amazon seem to have a few at the moment. Anyway, I loved this as a child, so thanks for letting me hear the song again, its stuck in my head through the years, hauntingly beautiful song :)
