I've been playing Rio by Duran Duran for about 2 hours and my right hand wrist really hurt and aches for about 10 minutes now, how can I stop this happening again?
@RobBrooksMusic I'm assuming you're using the German grip, which uses more wrist? Try switching to the French grip... it's more finger control than wrist. Still uses the wrist, but less motion if you're going fast. Either that or you need a wrist brace.
@sauronhall You are aware that there are drumming beginners, right? You were probably a beginner at once or did you start out knowing how to play drums right out of the womb? This video is helpful for people just learning the different stick grips. But you probably instinctively new all the stick grips the first time you picked up a drum stick.

my drum teacher is making me hold it like that but so my knuckles are facing the ceiling and only using my fingers but i can get my hand in that angle. is it even possible?
jesus christ , as usual expert village is idiotic .... if you want to see the different grips and what can be done with them check out Jo Jo Mayer`s clips from his instructional video .
@FuckinMetal3694 ok if you're referring to how much they cost, k custom individual crashes can start as high as $300 dollars or more, and istanbul's are usually even more expensive. if you're talking about their quality, k customs are pretty widely considered some of the best zildjian has to offer, and istanbul is endorsed by drummers like matt mcdonough (mudvayne), david turncrantz (russian circles), and cindy blackman, one of the best female studio drummers around. i don't get your argument.

The grips aren't called France Grip or Germany. So I think the way I said it was acceptable.
And I don't have spell check.
