Very good ride, and great rider....but not perfect people.....this ride would not be competative today....if you look, the walk pirouette was not a 10, the passage would be considered weak today, and there were moments of irregularity, the piaffe was well done...the walk was correct, but not the best natural walk I've ever seen.....the point I'm trying to make is this.....riders today have learned from these great masters and have done what they were trying to do....take it to a whole new level.

Today, about 85% of the dressage horses aren´t ridden in the right way I´d say. It´s a shame!
It takes longer to ride a horse in the right way, but therefore it is more "sustainable" and will "last" longer without being damaged.
Besides it is much more comfortable for the horse to be ridden in the right way - everything else means pain and is just more convenient for the rider.
Could someone PLEASE post more complete film of Herr Neckermann and other top German and Russian Riders from the 1960's?? I am in Korea and I do not have access to German and Russian Dressage videos here. thank you very much. David G. / Seoul ROK
Oh, it's so nice to see a lean, leggy creature, rather than these clunky 1/2 draft things we see nowadays. (dont get me wrong, all horses are blessed with 4 legs, so they are all perfect)
Could as well be Holstein or any other light breed. You have horses being bred all over Germany, not just at the barns which are the origins of those breeds. ;)
Plus, Verden was (and is) quite a big events with numerous breeds being sold.

Ahh, dressage back in the day of real training and non-warmbloods (for the most part). I love it. Real movements, not tricks. It's inspiring!

Must be a Hannoverian, since Mr Neckermann bought him at the auction in Verden.
