  • 8000 to 8600

  • 10,000 rpm redline

  • what CID is that? 632?

  • @miamibitch305fl If i'm not mistaken it's a 540 rather than a 565.... just can't remember right now

  • i bet the neighbors are pissed

  • 8,500 rpm

  • I LOVE PRO STOCK!!!!.....um, 9,800rpm or 10,100 somewhere in that ballpark? lol its still faster than grandma's grocery getter.

  • Was the throttle connected to my pants, or am I just happy to see you?

  • trying to float a valve? or shit just wear it out? Reving an engine like that with no load? Do you have money to throw away?

  • They made the 302 specificaly for going Trans-am racing because of their engine size limit rule. And to go Trans-am racing you have to sell in the showroom what you run on the track, kinda. Lol

  • If this a Reher Morrison Engine like the valve covers say, He otta come slap who ever was reving on this thing like that. That's just ignorant.

  • @bigmrclean

    why is that mr. expert?

  • i meant 8500ish??????

  • 9500ish?????

  • Some 302 chevys can rev to 8500.

  • @atvguy94 Actually he's right. Look it up. The Chevy 302's were some high reving sob's back in their day and some still are.

  • @einarkm oh damn. lol thanks (: I feel stuipd now. my bad.

  • @atvguy94 I'm going to go ahead and tell you before someone else does and is nasty about it. Chevy made a 302 inch engine. Back in the 60's...Google...Z28 302 chevy.

  • @bigmrclean ya some else did tell me.. ima delete that comment now.. shhh... you saw nothing

  • @atvguy94 lol

  • Comment removed

  • im gonna say around the 8k mark.

  • Its OVER 9000!

  • There is no transmission hooked up on this engine.

  • @bigmrclean I'm afraid you are wrong there my friend. This motor was sitting in a t/k car ready to go.

  • @bigmrclean Your right, this guy must put the transmission in the car AFTER the engine goes in....seems to me like your on to something...

  • @MDizzel16 Well it sounded like to me that the way it was revving, that the engine wasn't hooked up to a transmission. He said there was though, so I was wrong I suppose. Won't be the first nor the last time I've been wrong.

  • I would say 9000

  • It sounds amazing and has some killer throttle response, what size is the big block anyway? Any kind of ideas on power?

  • Put an accurate tacho on it - end this bullshit speculation.

  • is it for sale

  • it's over nine thousand!

  • I heard its over 9000

  • 9000

  • my guess is 9500

  • how come this engine revs all the way up to 8K+ and most other V8's (either small or big or w/e) only goes to what? 6 to 7.5k?

  • @weetnietgeen I take it you have never seen a Comp. Eliminator car in action... some rev over 10k and Pro Stock big blocks rev over 10k as well

  • @einarkm nope i havent :) thanks tho :)

  • @einarkm, most people dont know that... i never saw a big block run that high of RPM till a truck pull in our town when there where super mod trucks that were running race fuel and running upwards of 1500 HP. the one ran on a digital tac 10085

  • @JustinHansen6669 well said, you just have to be around these beasts to get some real understanding of what they are capable of

  • @einarkm, and the power they put out is just freaking amazing... the lowese hp we saw that night was the 1500, there were trucks that that were pushing more and you could tell the difference.. the raw power drew me in but i never would have though of 10,000+ RPM was ever acheivable... just shows what you can do with money and brains... personally im a diesel lover, but you cannot turn down the wonderful smell of race fuel and massive HP/torque ratings.

  • @weetnietgeen Its all in the valve train. Then the cam and intake manifold have to be able to make power to the point you want to rev it too. But, the valve train is what actually allows you to rev to xRPM.

  • @michiganminis i learned that on school a couple of weeks ago:P

  • @weetnietgeen its all in the stroke...

  • @VegaWgn just never forget a good mag will help get the rpm up if your distributor quits at 5500 my uncle has a L88 427 chevy bb that scares the life out of you at 8000 in a 68 firebird 400

  • @weetnietgeen its cause these engines are BUILT. This engine probably costs more than a regular car.

  • @weetnietgeen

It's all about the parts used...He probably has a light weight forged aluminum crank... Roller Rockers and everything else... The lighter the parts, the faster they can spin...If you spin heavy parts at a high RPM something is going to break pretty fast...redline for a Chevy 350 is around 4800 RPM... but it has heavy parts in it... Also compression plays a big part in it... If you have a high compression ratio, you're not gonna be able to rev it up as high.,..A lot of variables.

  • my guess is right around 8100...Am I in the ballpark?

  • @scott93257 what do you mean ?

my dads bmw 535i e39's V8 revs up to 6750 in sport before shifting, thats still alot for a v8 :o

  • @weetnietgeen

Hell yeah that's a lot...Those BMW's can rev pretty high... Just like the ford Engines... the new 302 can rev to about 7200 before shifting and has a redline of almost 8k

  • @weetnietgeen

    Yeah it is...Very high

  • @weetnietgeen most of the internals are made out of titanium a very light weight and strong metal, since it being lighter it allows the engine to rev higher. There are also other things including roller lifters and rockers which play a part in reducing friction and reducing friction=higher reving.

  • @TEEEJ69 There is nothing in the internals of this motor that is made out of titanium. Steel crank, aluminum rods, aluminum-alloy pistons, tool steel wrist pins etc etc. But everything is balanced perfectly which is the key ;o)

  • @weetnietgeen

It all depends on the parts... Stock V8's will spin up to right around 7k....Some built with Roller Rockers, forged aluminum rods, pistons, and a forged still crank will spin a lot faster...I have seen some go up to as high as 9k. NASCAR engines..

  • sweet sound for sure! nuthin' beats a rat motor period. coolzer5369

  • 9k - 10.5

  • I would say thats atleast 8k, more along the range of 8,500..

  • 8,241 is my guess. So what's the right answer einarkm?

  • @540merlin I actually have no idea.... no my motor :o) BUT.... I reved my 496 up high... almost to 8k... so I assume this engine is going over that...

  • @einarkm i was guessing 7700 or thereabouts

  • LUCKY HE DIDENT THROW THE RODS OUT OF IT

  • sounds like at least 8 grand!!! damn i could feel the rod bolts stretch from here!!!

  • @deannaber THATS FUNNY YOU DONT NEED TO REV A MOTOR LIKE THAT

  • 75-8

  • Sounds like a, soon to be, blown engine... no rev limiter?

At 7200 rpm you don't get the f1 sound...

  • 8,000 to 9,000

  • about 7500 rpm is my guess, only because my 496 sounded just like it ;)

  • 6800 - 7200 that's about it

  • 7200rpm not much more.

  • 7200rpm not much more.

  • 7200rpm not much more.

  • 7200rpm max no more.

  • 7200rpm max no more.

  • 10'000? No way! Listen to that, that's what 10'000 RPMs sound like: /watch?v=ZsGTBWmN41s

    I think it does 8000-9000.

  • That exhaust looks interesting, could be some trickery there. Whats the bore and stroke of this fantastic engine, and how do you get such a smooth rev limiter.

  • maybe 7000-8000 RPM ???

  • 85000

  • About 9-10 000

  • 10,000

  • 8700 my guess

  • x-2

  • Honestly what was the point in holding it that long?

  • 7000

  • maybye 8000-8500 revs

  • maybe 7500..close to valve spring give up...either way it hard on em to do that just free spinning with no load on em...

  • 6000 - 7000, Its a V8 4.8L if im not mistaken

  • what you been smokin?

  • lol...4.8 liter...lord..lol

  • lol, are you joking? try more like 8L big block

  • It had to be close to 10 grand as long as you held it open

  • 6000 to MAYBE 7000 but thats tops.

  • oh my fucking god

  • 8500

  • Damn that's a nasty engine.

  • 7200...

  • maybe 11000

  • 7000-8000

  • 8800

  • 9500rpm-10000rpm?

  • 9000rpm !
