i think your hair looked a lot better dark - it was more flattering to your face. you did a good job though - i think the way to solve that problem is just making it ombre when your hair is much longer and starting the color at about your chin instead :D this was really helpful because my hair is about as long as yours is in this video, and i have been considering doing it like this. now i know i should wait , but that i still want it because it looks good. so thanks for posting this! :D
This is great, but you really should've put the first bleach mixture on where you wanted it to start fading and then put the second lot of bleach on just the ends. The way you did it would damage more of the hair than if you just bleached nearer to the ends the second time (also would mean you would have to cut less off if it was damaged too badly)
i'm totally doing it right now, at this moment! have been thinking about ombre hair for a couple of months and today i got a syoss bleach, then watched your video and felt so encouraged :)
so yeah, right now i'm waiting for the bleach to process my hair for the first time and then we'll see. can't wait for the results! :)
omg i love it *_* do you think this will work on little bid red dyed hair ( washed out but a rest is still in ) and do you think it will look okay? i'll do this on tuesday ... i watched many videos bit yours i liked best :)
I can't tell you how many times I've watched your video and other ombre diys here on YT. I've been contemplating the ombre look since last summer. And now I finally got the courage to JUST DO IT so I'm "ombre"fying as I type, lol.
@xxnatt Yes! That makes me so happy! Please send me a pic when you are finished. You can find my email at my blog - then click the 'reach me' button :)
Bleaching hair that has already been bleached is really bad for your hair, It doesnt matter if you leave it an hour a day or even a month this can cause so much damage to your hair. Also the lifting process depends on how much colour build up you already have to determine how much lift you will get.
@jaydee31081988 Sometimes girls like to do things to their hair even though they know it will be damaging. It's all so we can get that special look we're going for. I don't think that's a problem. You just take extra good care of your hair. Mine is doing just fine.
@saratopss It is hard to explain with words. If you look on my blog you can see how light it is. The bleaching hasn't changed since I did this video, so you will be able to look at my current posts and get an idea of what the color was.
@Ms121121121121121 It's probably just the lighting in the room. I filmed the after part the next day. Who knows! I'm just as curious as all of you are :)
@locamoca123 yeath that part confused me too.. but im pretty sure the blonde dye has bleach in it, so she put that on first to lighten the bottom, and then she put some more on to make it fade
@rahrahritaa Yes the "blonde dye" is bleach. So I put it on first to lighten it, and then I put it on an hour after that to lighten it even more and to make the "faded" part. Hope that makes sense.
I love the end result and am thinking of trying. I have to recolor my roots first. Do you think I should wait before trying the ombre look? Like a day after I dyed my hair?
@bripo135 I'm obviously not a pro and hair bleach and what not. So I would just suggest buying a bleach. But I do know that it all depends on HOW LONG you leave the bleach on your hair. If you don't want it to look super unnatural, then only leave it on for a short period of time. If it isn't light enough. Wait at least an hour and do it again.
@geiko14 I think cause she worked her way from the bottom and then to the top. you need to put it on unevenly for it to look natural. and make sure you get further up towards the crown of the hair so you wont have the line :)
hi, i was just wondering...where I live you can puchase those highlighting creams in several different kinds..they will(or at least they should) make your hair 2,2-4,4-5,or even 4-6 shades lighter. I have really dark brown hair, but still i´m afraid that the 4-6 shades one will be too much..What would you recommend? :)
Aaah I just tried to do this using a highlighting kit. I did a test strand and left it for an hour (I have really dark hair that is hard to lighten). It turned out a bit lighter than I wanted the lightest part to be. So I did all my hair and left it on for half an hour but it didn't make much difference... didn't really get the ombre effect :-/ I have thick hair and I think the highlighting kit didn't have enough dye. Would it be bad for my hair if I made another attempt tomorrow? :-/
@asterismxx In the video I did it twice, so go ahead and do it again! And since you have thick hair, really focus on getting it on all of your hairs --make sure its soaking wet with bleach. I hope it works out for you!
aaah I should have got the lightening kit you used. I saw it in the store. But I bought this highlighting kit for dark hair instead... I think I will exchange it.
Awesome vid I've been wanting to try this for some time now. You said that your hair was already dyed and I was wondering how long you waited after you had your hair dyed dark to try this..
did you also color the top part of your hair cause it looks lighter or is it the effect of both colors??? btw it looks amazing and its by far the best tutorial i've seen on this style
@destrellitafugaz I imagine it'd be close to the same concept. I'm not sure though because I don't have any experience doing it. And yeah, doing dark brown would probably be the best way to create the faded look

This amazing! So how many times did you dye it brown before?
I'm still thinking about doing it myself but I'm really scared it will turn out bright orange or something, because I have brown dyed hair too!
Your hair looks amazing though and I love your blog!

wow, just checked out your blog and loved how it came out, but one think I need to ask is if your hair is as dark as it is in the video?
