Robert Palmer deserves an important place in the history of modern pop music. No rock musician has produced a larger library of quality music, and with such incredible variety.
Luckily, Robert Palmer had a drummer from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, so he played in Fort Smith in 1986 and in Pine Bluff in 1988 and I got to see him live. Still have the ticket stubs and autographed pics. Great performer.

I didn't know Palmer did have a coke habit. In the video he seems to return to the stage for the encore and keeps rubbing his nose during the song. Robbie might have indeed been doin' some snortin' backstage...
The band looks like they just escaped from the methadone clinic but RP looks as if he just walked off a page of GQ. He brought sexy back in a time when fashionable just wasn't fashionable. Rock in Peace MF'er.
Great singer.
Great Voice.
Great outfit.
Miss him a great deal.

I love that little dance he always did. It wasn't so much a dance as a foot shuffle. :)
