Don't give a shit what SOME folks are sayin'! This guy's got rhythm! Always will be the best! Hope he never stops! I agree with one of the other responses...Hammer should bring this shit back to show today's kids what REAL music is all about!! Hammer Time!!
Man, I remember all the moves! High impact energy! We don't see performances like this anymore....now that I think about it, we don't see performances anymore.
Inna white jacket and white pants and shoes with a black silver surfer t shirt and the sleeves pulled up like tubbs and crockett oh hell yeah this was the best show in town! Remember Vickie?
...i dont care what happend after this u cant deny this man got talent, he put on a real ass show, not just rapping and walking back and forth from one side of the stage to next like these rappers today thinking they done did something special.
Incredible performer, just incredible. Nobody in todays music has this kind of presence and energy on stage let alone charisma. Take your Gaga's, Rhianna's, Jay Z's, Kanye's, Beyonces, Coldplays, Kings of Leon and countless other bland boring shit and shove it. Hammer crushes the lot of em.
what more can i say, well ill try.i loved hammer back in the day and i got alot of stick from the nwa boys,i didnt care i even travelled bye myself to watch him in concert bye myself when i was 19...the show was the shit...love it,the days of the dancing your heart out
Watching this brings back some good memories. Everybody was dancin' hard to this. The dudes would be funky, the women would be funky, everybody was just damn funky!!!
back in the day this beat came on all the bboys went mad krazy on the floor !!! for those who hate dont no beats ,this was the shshshshsit back in the day ,also this was music ,if u no bout it seriously speakin !!
Back in the early days of rap some Rappers danced I.e. Heavy D, Kid and Play And MC Hammer. rap was hype music. most of the rappers rapped about being better than other MC's.(just like his dis of Run and LL Cool J) the difference is, it wasn't vulgar and never crossed the line. it's sole purpose was to get the party started. and lyrics were also way more clever back then. don't dis Hammer, Lets not forget Tupac was a member of digital Underground who made the Humpty Dance.
i remember watching him perform this on the arcenio hall show!! i was waiting all day and night for the show to come on.......remember my 1st hammer concert! that thang was crunk!!!! man.....memories
Man, I had NO weight issues when Hammer was out!!!!! LOL!!!!! And Too Big and Flava Flav are the best HYPE men out there. I wish I had either one of them posted at my bed when it's time for work! I just wouldn't want to die from a heart attack! LOL!!!

thumbs up if you like me. because in this world we really need to support each other. so often we just walk around in circles just doing the same thing. ya know. i've been walking round in circles for so long now i've made a little tent with ribbons and water features, i've make pretty patterns with my fingers using my feces as paint, i've erected great pillars to hold up a magnificent roof and on the roof we will party like its 4pm on a mildly cloudy day, in august with a chance of late showers
What the f%^%.... I still jam HAMMER... AN ALTHOUGHT I AM 38 YRS OLD...I LOVE ME SOME HAMMMER....AND WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..AND I STILL LOOK AT THE OLD VIDEOS OF ALL OF HIS JAMS, AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT ....THEN THE GAME IS ON YOU.....HAVE A DRINK OR TWO AND HEAR SOME HAMMER, AN IT IS SO ON AND POPPING.......FINGER POPING AND BODY TWIRLING OFF OF SOME HAMMER...SO PLS DON'T ACT LIKE YOU WAS NOT A HAMMER FAN.....
went to a conscert in 92 pine knob mich, TLC, Boyz II Men and MC Hammer the headliner need I say more OH and time for VH1 HIP-HOP HONORS FOR HAMMERTIME!
i came to cali back in 88 from texas at the peak of hammer stardom.seen him at the clubs throughout the bay area.i'm still waiting for any damn rapper today to top the dance performance & entertainment he put out.it's not that we're old (43) & live in the past, but just a true fact that music has changed along with the performers. this is when you got suited & booted to hit the clubs, get yo mack on,dance on, & talk about how live it was. those days are over thanks to today's thugs & shitty music
No matter what you said about Hammer, the man rocked shit back in the day. For real. Just imagine the energy this cat brought to a concert. And just watchin 357 dance in the background will make anybody wanna get up a dance.
@varriago123- - You know what's sad is that Hammer got clowned for being innovative! He was one of the first MC's to move beyond simply hip hop and market himself in many different ways. Today, rappers such as Jay Z, Diddy, etc. do it on a regular!! Hammer was truly a great talent that hip hop at that time could not really appreciate. They looked at him as a "sellout" because he expanded himself and smiled. He was simply smart at least in that way; he did however miss manage a lot of money!!

holy sh*t I got tired just watching the vid, There is still no one out there that can even come close to putting on a show like he did. Damn dude was pure energy!
This video was the bomb baby. I love the way terrible does that kick at 1:56. child they couldn't be touched back then and there hasn't been a rap artist or group who can compare to them today. they were some bad mofo's!
omg i remember him coming to my town and setting it off nobody was sitting at show from start to finish it was great even my parents had to say damn he can dance they where even enterained at the show those where the days
I would have preferred to see Hammer at the Super Bowl instead of The Who. Hammer and his dancers would have been a lot more entertaining with all of that raw energy.
man those were the days in the bay area. 1988-1996. when i came from texas and hit cali, all i heard was hammer this and hammer that. that cat was the shit. so all u youngsters who think he's a square or he looks like a clown, well ask your parents if they were club go'ers back in the late 80's early 90's. so all that crazy stuff ya'll here don't believe the hype. you guys will never have the clubs or artists we had back in the 70',80's,early 90's. hammer please don't hurt em' man. classic.
@str8outtatexas1 I agree with you 100%. I was a child back then when this came out, and this was the it shit back then. Also music like this had meaning. This shit this generation listen to these days dont make any sense at all. You can't even dance to it, like you did the music back in the day. This shit they got out today will course you out, make you feel like hoe, etc., I cant even listen to too much hip hop, when I do it has to be the radio verson.
@padussia this music has meaning?? this is the same as todays club music but back in the day...just sounds different. i guess hip hop isn't your genre because hip hop is about lyricists. this is pop music like prince and michael jackson. rappers don't dance....
@soulReBeL42zero Yes this music does have meaning. Yes I am into hip hop a little. And maybe today rappers don't dance, but back in the 80"s and 90"s they some of them did. Back in the day this was considered rap. They just came up with this classification of hip/hop and pop in the late 1990's.
for all you guys calling mj hammer washed up , no he is smart , he had his fun while it lasted , then he got saved , its good he is able to get close to GOD while he is still alive and save his soul the most important thing .
I forgot about this song - I was looking for something completey different and found this. I remember attending one of his concerts w/Salt N Peppa, Stetsasonic, Kid N Play and Digital Underground. This was FIYAH!!
Hammer, Hammer, How ya doin'...!! An entertainer pioneer that deserves mad props. Also check out the video for 'They Put Me In The Mix'. Another classic remix from the original version.
still one of my favs to this day.. yall should check out "please hollywood don't hurt'em" on youtube.. that dude therre took it back.. like a mini hammer.
I agree the funky head hunter was a awesome album. I love the Don't stop remix with Roger Troutman. I have both bumps and a bump videos but does anybody know where I can find the song "Burn it up" which was on his Too Legit to Quit album
You couldn't tell me and my sister that we wasn't gonna out dance 357 so we could be his new dancers. We still LOVE Hammer and 357 but, where are they?
I saw this in concert and NOOOOBODY was sitting down and more than half were on the lawn area. It was a 23,000 person dance party and you know he got it started.
ANYBODY with functioning limbs who can remain seated (even if they're at home alone) while hammer is on - is crazy. *L* i'm at work right now, in my chair dancing...checking my periphreal to make sure nobody catches me.
357 was the bomb!!! he could have saved a TON of money by just keeping them!!!! you should check out the orignal video!!!OMG but I agree 357 was all he needed, but he is a generous man and I think he tried to employee alot of people as he got more successful and I admire him for that at least he was not like these selfish asshole artist doing coke and shit like that he was trying to help people I love HAMMER he is still the man in my book!!!!
I have been looking all over only place I could find it was Dailymotion . com the video sucks but at least you can see it the remake verson is on singing fool that is my favorite
Man MC HAMMER was the shit!!! And anybody who says other wise is retarded!! He was AMAZING!!! Nobody has brought it like Hammer did in his live shows.
MC Hammer was the greatest, I have no idea how anybody can call him bad, he's entertaining, he's got great moves and you really "can't touch" his energy.
I love this rap from Hammer. I didn't like him as much I would have because of the hatin back then. I respect him now than all the weak rappers today and the corporate America bought them out. He brought style, high energy dancing and swagger in the game. Hammer brought it down in the video and today's rappers is running rap into the ground. Long live old school rap
Brilliant showmanship. He helped elevate hip hop to another level, performance wise. Be niggas still hate on him to this day, be secretly bought his albums back in the day. He was never about lyricism.
Mannnnnn HAMMER was so full of energy from thebeginning of a concert to the end ....!!!

I saw this in concert and NOOOOBODY was sitting down and more than half were on the lawn area. It was a 23,000 person dance party and you know he got it started.
