@filmzo I bet he's not even the real father. He doesn't communicate well with his wife, and Pete certainly didn't get his smarts from his father's side.

(Seriously though, I do like this film, and I know vocabulary doesn't always correlate with intelligence. I know plenty of smart people, usually very good with computers or visual design, who have trouble with words, and I know people who are good with words but can't think their way out of a paper bag.)

Do you remember what was actually happening in the population... lets say.. the black experience, the female experience, the gay experience, environmental theory, ideas behind smoking, drinking, hitting women, etc...

@111steven To each their own. Live and let live. What to one person seems "stupid' is not stupid at all if you could have walked in that other person's shoes and experienced life from their perspective.

I was speaking from the perspective of a young boy and to me at that time in my life things WERE innocent .
