It's great to learn and use new words, but there should be meaning and depth behind them; not fluff. I'll take an honest man using petty words, over a devious man speaking with a dangerous tongue.
This is the absolute best way to improve your vocabulary. I am almost finished with my vocabulary journal. This video is some good advise. Heed it people.
Thank You! This is so true, kids should be watching videos like this that will show them the importance of education and what it can do for them. Instead of music videos and reality show garbage.
@filmzo I bet he's not even the real father. He doesn't communicate well with his wife, and Pete certainly didn't get his smarts from his father's side.
(Seriously though, I do like this film, and I know vocabulary doesn't always correlate with intelligence. I know plenty of smart people, usually very good with computers or visual design, who have trouble with words, and I know people who are good with words but can't think their way out of a paper bag.)
innocent? i hate when people attribute black and white films to "simpler, innocent and more moral times". Do you remember what was actually happening in the population... lets say.. the black experience, the female experience, the gay experience, environmental theory, ideas behind smoking, drinking, hitting women, etc...
yours was a stupid comment. Sorry i just had to say it.
@111steven To each their own. Live and let live. What to one person seems "stupid' is not stupid at all if you could have walked in that other person's shoes and experienced life from their perspective.
I was speaking from the perspective of a young boy and to me at that time in my life things WERE innocent .
No one can learn all of those words. I'm going to bed!

I really like this film and lesson. The use of words is powerful and I whole heartedly agree that a broad vocabulary is the key in being effective.
I really appreciate the postage. Great job!
Thank you *XXX*
