Explain Paul's warning in Galatians 1: 8-9, here Joseph Smith says he was visited by God and Jesus "angel"! @twocentsin6 What Paul is saying is for us not to be deceived. He's not saying that a visitation of ANY angel will be false. God has always sent Angels and always will - God is unchanging. Angels ministered to many in the Bible after Paul wrote to the Galatians. John in Revelation spoke of an Angels that would come in the future.

But when you look at how many Christian churches there are in the United States alone (2000+), you have to question which is right and which is wrong. Christianity teaches that God (the three in one Godhead) loved us so much that he sent Himself (as the Son, one part of the Godhead) to die for our sins so we can eternally live and glorify Him, not to become gods like Him. Mormon doctrine does not teach the truth of the bible and in fact distort the gospel greatly. Mormon's also believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers and that Satan had his own plan to save humanity but Jesus wanted to do what his father wanted and so he got to be savior. "Jesus became a God and reached His great state of understanding through consistent effort and continuous obedience to all the Gospel truths and universal laws" (The Gospel Through the Ages, p.51).

Mormon's believe in multiple gods, and that Jesus was a son of God, but not God. Mormons don't really believe in the trinity; the three in one Godhead. "Our" god isn't the only god, there are multiple ones throughout the universe, "our" god started out as a man on another planet that was good enough to get godhood. They believe if you are good enough you can ascend to godhood. These are all core beliefs of the Mormon faith (even though some have changed) and are ALL blasphemy.

@themange59 While I am no defender of Mormonism, you might want to check your early church history (I don't mean Mormon, but for the first few centuries after Christ's crucifixion). It was by no means a given that Christ was divine, although that is where popular opinion landed. "Son of God" or "Son of Man" was a common euphemism for human and the nature of Christ was and is debatable. For me, this in no way lessens His importance.

A couple comments: Beck should not threaten God in the way he described. Even if he did, it is not a good way to be with God, so not something that should be promoted. Also, as a member of the LDS Church he really needs to talk about it. In this interview I didn't hear anything about the Book of Mormon, etc. It is also very difficult to find anything about the Gospel on his website.
Why did he hesitate when he said he dedicated his life to the ... "Lord"? He can't say "Jesus Christ" because he is afraid to mention his name. Remember, the bible says that NO ONE can say Jesus Christ is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. This should give anyone pause before saying that Glenn is a Christian.

@blitzkev2008 The reason that Chrstians do not agree w/ Mormon is because the LDS church's teaching are opposed to the teachings of Jesus in the bible. The person Jesus reveals himself to be in the bible is not the same Jesus in the scriptures. The Book of Mormon in 1 Nephi 13 discredits the bible and says that so many things have been taken out and added that it cannot be trusted. Christ could have come to America, but He didn't. He left his church to spread his gospel and it has.

A follower of Christ is not just someone who thinks Christ had some good ideas that we should listen to and implement into our every day routines in order to have better lives. A follower of Christ is someone who has been called by the Lord to His unearned, undeserved grace and been covered with it, removing their guiltiness before the Lord based on Christ's righteousness alone.

@rockyrock There is a big problem thinking that God has chosen only you and a select others to live with him after the resurrection. With the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus the Christ, He has already chosen you. He has already chosen everybody from the beginning of time to the end of it. The only thing that is stopping us from receiving the full benefits of the atonement is our choosing Him. He will never force anyone to come to Him. That is our choice alone.
@rockyrock And even then, we must follow everything that He taught (see John 14:15). That means faith, repentance, baptism by immersion (not sprinkling), the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost by one who has authority (see Matt 3:16, Acts 19:3-6, Hebrews 5:4), and enduring to the end, continually repenting for mistakes that have been done that day. Believe it or not, we can, and sometimes do, fall from grace.

A Christian is someone who places their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and realizes they can't follow the teachings of Jesus the Christ. The teachings or the law or the 10 commandements clearly show us we are unable to live up to the standards God set for man. Once we realize we are unable to live to these standards and place our trust in Christ for salvation and turn from our sins and ask Him to change our hearts is when we become a Christian. Born again.
Monty, I think you said that anyone who believes and follows the teaching of Jesus is a Christian. I said places our trust in Jesus and realizes that we can't follow His teachings. When we examine ourself, we fall short of everything Jesus taught. Glenn is a nice fellow but he is earning his way to heaven by trying to do good on his own efforts. The Holy Spirit changes our heart as a result of placing our trust in Jesus. We fail to follow by our own efforts. Totally different.

Angels ministered to many in the Bible after Paul wrote to the Galatians. John in Revelation spoke of an Angels that would come in the future.

@koishooter The men themselves aren't evil. Not even all of the doctrines. But when you look at how many Christian churches there are in the United States alone (2000+), you have to question which is right and which is wrong. You also have to question that if God is not a "respecter of persons", why were there prophets and Apostles during all of the Biblical times and not now? Also, how did they get their authority to act in His name? What made them so special?

If you spent more time and energy trying to find the cure to cancer versus trying to tare down the faith of one the largest religions in our nation we might acutally find a cure. I am LDS and I am not decieved. I have attended other churches and the Holy Ghost has testified to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church upon the face of the earth. Christianity teaches that God (the three in one Godhead) loved us so much that he sent Himself (as the Son, one part of the Godhead) to die for our sins so we can eternally live and glorify Him, not to become gods like Him. Mormon doctrine does not teach the truth of the bible and in fact distort the gospel greatly. Please read Galatians 1:6-10, and see the that the differences between Mormonism and Christianity are very VERY great that that if you are Mormon you are being deceived.

Mormon's also believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers and that Satan had his own plan to save humanity but Jesus wanted to do what his father wanted and so he got to be savior. "Jesus became a God and reached His great state of understanding through consistent effort and continuous obedience to all the Gospel truths and universal laws" (The Gospel Through the Ages, p.51).
Notice the word "a" meaning there are more than one.

Mormon's believe in multiple gods, and that Jesus was a son of God, but not God. Mormons don't really believe in the trinity; the three in one Godhead. "Our" god isn't the only god, there are multiple ones throughout the universe, "our" god started out as a man on another planet that was good enough to get godhood. They believe if you are good enough you can ascend to godhood. These are all core beliefs of the Mormon faith (even though some have changed) and are ALL blasphemy.

@themange59 While I am no defender of Mormonism, you might want to check your early church history (I don't mean Mormon, but for the first few centuries after Christ's crucifixion). It was by no means a given that Christ was divine, although that is where popular opinion landed. "Son of God" or "Son of Man" was a common euphemism for human and the nature of Christ was and is debatable. For me, this in no way lessens His importance.

A couple comments: Beck should not threaten God in the way he described. Even if he did, it is not a good way to be with God, so not something that should be promoted. Also, as a member of the LDS Church he really needs to talk about it. In this interview I didn't hear anything about the Book of Mormon, etc. It is also very difficult to find anything about the Gospel on his website.

Why did he hesitate when he said he dedicated his life to the ... "Lord"? He can't say "Jesus Christ" because he is afraid to mention his name. If this is true then why do all of these people question them? Do they doubt Christ could have had appeared to other civilations around the world to spread his gospel? f so does this mean that they doubt Christ?

@blitzkev2008 The reason that Chrstians do not agree w/ Mormon is because the LDS church's teaching are opposed to the teachings of Jesus in the bible. The person Jesus reveals himself to be in the bible is not the same Jesus in the scriptures. The Book of Mormon in 1 Nephi 13 discredits the bible and says that so many things have been taken out and added that it cannot be trusted. Christ could have come to America, but He didn't. He left his church to spread his gospel and it has.

A follower of Christ is not just someone who thinks Christ had some good ideas that we should listen to and implement into our every day routines in order to have better lives. A follower of Christ is someone who has been called by the Lord to His unearned, undeserved grace and been covered with it, removing their guiltiness before the Lord based on Christ's righteousness alone.

@rockyrock There is a big problem thinking that God has chosen only you and a select others to live with him after the resurrection. With the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus the Christ, He has already chosen you. He has already chosen everybody from the beginning of time to the end of it. The only thing that is stopping us from receiving the full benefits of the atonement is our choosing Him. He will never force anyone to come to Him. That is our choice alone.

That means faith, repentance, baptism by immersion (not sprinkling), the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost by one who has authority (see Matt 3:16, Acts 19:3-6, Hebrews 5:4), and enduring to the end, continually repenting for mistakes that have been done that day. Believe it or not, we can, and sometimes do, fall from grace.

A Christian is someone who places their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and realizes they can't follow the teachings of Jesus the Christ. The teachings or the law or the 10 commandements clearly show us we are unable to live up to the standards God set for man. Once we realize we are unable to live to these standards and place our trust in Christ for salvation and turn from our sins and ask Him to change our hearts is when we become a Christian. Born again.

I have to wonder if Pat Robertson actually finished that book. :) I would hope so I am just glad he went into more detail of it on this since I had no idea what it was about this is a very powerful message I may have to get it now. I met Glenn myself for the first time in 2007 and I remember him sharing his life story and conversion. I at the time had no idea who he was. I hear others attack him and personally I believe it is because he is so real, love him or hate him I believe he is sincere.

All Christians share in the essential core doctrine of the Church, Believing Jesus is the I Am, In Canaanite, conceived of a virgin by the holyspirit, He & He alone is the author & finisher of our faith. Example, the word Gentleman, was once defined by FACTS, definition of Gentleman " a man that had a coat of arms, & owned land" Those were the facts. How he behaved, was irrelevant to the title. As time passed, it became subjectively applied to people. Not by facts, but by opinion.

Disciples were called Christians because they took Christ for there teacher, credited his every way to there doctrine & followed the rule of life laid down by Him, & his appointed apostles, A Christian believed in their heart confessed with there mouth & knew they were saved. @Sephuskal You follow JS, I follow Jesus Christ... Its simple as that. Mormons belive that Joseph Smith makes the call who gets into heaven and who don't.
I'm gonna leave that up to my attorney Jesus Christ. The mormons believe you get into heaven by doing good works. My bible tells me different. No matter how good you are its Grace. Forgivness ... nothing about how good you are. How hard you work the prodical son is a perfect examply. My friend there is not need to follow a Profit.

@Sephuskal Here we go again... I'm a fool? Insulting? I don't see any insults except from U-R comments I refer to Bible scripture, conflicting with the BoM. You claim of being Christian. How is that possible ? when you practice from another Book conflicting with the Teachings of Jesus Christ? You have not given me a answer. My teacher says my Father made all races. Yours says blacks are cursed & will be servants forever. I speak truth, all my words come from the teaching of Jesus.

@onstageagain You never gave the Book of Mormon reference. You are a fool for thinking that you can disprove any of what Sephuskal or myself has said. You honestly think that we would not see through your ruse? That even though you claim to follow the Master Teacher, you do not. In that, you are a liar. If you truly were a member of the LDS Church you would know that there is just as much as esteem for the Bible as there is for the Book of Mormon and other revealed scripture.

@monty287 Look go away I've spent more time in a temple they you have been alive. I'm busy.... Nothing ... did you hear that? Nothing you can say or do will EVER change my mind on the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have spent thousands of hrs researching JS... I firmly believe he was a con man. Nothing will change that. Because thats what I did to convience my self that I was following a false group. Where are your facts? Smith prophesied in 1832 concerning the American civil war that the British would get involved and the war would extend to all nations. This is just one of his false prophecies concerning the American civil war

@onstageagain You really don't know your history, do you? The British DID get involved with the Civil War. They aligned themselves with the South hoping that if they won, it would break up the United States and ease in the process of acquiring the old colonies again. When the French learned that the British joined the South, they sided with the North!
