Is HP "hit points"? I do not always understand abbreviations. It makes sense that a bigger stronger character like Zangeif could take more damage than a smaller one, however why not just make the LENGTH of damage on the bars the same for all characters and simply give some characters shorter lfie bars than others?

@Zurround100 because that would be unfair, Akuma has a very strong ultra, super, and great combos, The down part of him is that His stamina is low (he is slow) and has a low stun (he is weaker). They do this to balance out the characters and shortening the health bar would be dumb because fights would be shorter.

Lol Yes the life bars are always the same size for each character. However, each character has a different number of HP in their life bars.

You'll see the difference if you go to practice mode and try hitting a full ultra on both Zangief and Akuma. You'll see that Akuma's life bar would decrease more than Zangief's even though they get hit by the same move.

zangief isnt cheap at all, and if you are getting beat by them you are a scrub or they are exceptionately skilled. Sagat, for example, is a cheap character. Fastest ranged attack, one of the most damaging and effective ultras, amazing EX attacks, brilliant combo ability, great health, great speed, amazing damage. whenever i use akuma or dhalsim against a gief they dont even get close to me, and i NEVER get hit by the lariat with any zoning character. L"P the game, because gief is anti scrub.

I'm sorry man but I pick random and it's pretty common knowledge that Akuma and Dhalsim are like the best 2 characters for beating Gief. Flint is right you know, Gief players online give the 50/50 getup, either 360grab or lariat, so you either block, get the hell out of there or get-up specials (shoryuken etc). Not every character is fortunate to have jumping hadokens or teleports. And besides when it's Gief vs Dhalsim then it's Dhalsim that is usually being lame.

The core game and specific combo's are what makes this game excellent. I don't lose many games online even though I play every character on the roster and NEVER counterpick, 99% of the time I will pick random unless for instance one day I don't get Gouken after 2 hours I might pick him.

Anyway, it's when people EXPLOIT, or just generally spam or be retards that the game is spoiled. Like ShoryuKEN's and LariatARDS, they sap the fun out of the game and discourage low level players from bothering.

Oh and one more thing. Sagat isn't that cheap. He was on par with Ken when the game was first released but that's just because every noob realised special move spam was winning games. Well not anymore.

Sagat doesn't have great combo ability, he's bad in close range, he sucks at crossup games, all he has going for him is the juggle into ultra but that is getting increasingly harder to pull off. Sagat at pro level is hard to use, he will be demolished by most Ryu's and any other pro players.
