hi guys ive been lookin on the site a while now like the look of this, but just bought a ion block rocker, its an i pod dock really but can use it for my harp, dont like the mic that it has but im hangin that soon, what you recon guys ?

In fact it's a Epiphone Valve Junior in different cabinet and a tone control added. Probably a different speaker.

I bought one of these. Cost £66 (£75 with delivery to U.K.). Without doubt the best value amp for harp you can get. Mic it up and the 5w is more than enough to act as a good monitor with

a loud band. Had it about a month now and tone justs seems to get better as the speaker breaks in. The only mods I think neccessary

would be a standby switch and a line out socket. As for Thomann, great company to deal with, delivery took 3 days

Is it just me or is this the best sounding of all the

cheap 5w valve amps (using harmonica)?

I've listened to all the newish 5w amps on Harpsuckers

vids and, even with the cheap mic I think this is the best.

Has the little Peavey 5w (I think it's called the Royal) been tested yet?

I think it has something to do with the video quality. In this one the sound is probably less compressed. Epi Valve Junior and HB GA5 are nearly the same amps. They both probably sound fatter than Fender Champ due to the larger speaker. I've got an Epi Valve Junior and after changing preamp tube to 12AT7 (ECC81) it's a lovely amp. Those cheap China made tube boxes are great!
