I bought land in willits for this very reason. I can't believe I ran into this video today. I'm building a cottage in my new land, and I'm getting away from this crazy world. Seems someone upstairs is actually hearing me out.
I appreciate the hard work these individuals are putting into the improvement of the community. And I admire this progressive earth-friendly attitude. Lets support local business!
"Iraq and the Patriot act" .... well indeed, forbid people in that country would ever rally and do the right thing unless it actually effects them .... sad.
"Have to help each other" ..... oh dear that sounds like socialism, must be very anti-american ...
"Americans have a tendency to lull into comfort" .... well that's a very politically correct way of saying lazy, nice.
Yeah, start before the problem gets here in full force so all the details and kinks are worked out before they could be really destructive. This is very encouraging to see!
Actually its chromium from this old plant. Its not radioactive but still not good to drink the water here. The same thing that erin brokovich researched happened here.
They're all stoned thats why. I like the part where the guy tries to explain the local economy, from lumber and manufacturing to services. Its more like lumber and manufacturing to dope growing services. Tap into the dope money and use it for sustainable growth instead of alchohol and meth like it says in the police logs.
I can't fathom how these people got it together to help each other out... It seems so unlike Americans to do this. They mostly embrace the "every man for himself" philosophy. Hat's off - this is the kind of community I'd like to live in.
Although I'd love to see Suberbia go, won't the electric car help keep it alive for a few years more?

peak oil is a myth. oil is abiotic. oil is not formed from dead plant life and dinosaurs but is continuously generated deep within the earth.

Trust me. They are making willits seem like is something its not. :S Its just like most other small towns.

Willits has attracted environmental entrepreneurs and inventors for many years. The result is a community of early adopters of sustainability.

Excellent! Makes me want to move to Willits. Elegant wind generator and demonstrator. Thanks for setting up this community model.
