Hey man its sickofsickness. For me, the hard part is if god exists, which religion, which sect, which bible and then which parts? because stoning your child to death vs loving your neighbor are both commanded by god....so....its like me handing you a bucket of sand and asking you to go through each grain and find the 'good ones'...with no metric on how to measure what a good grain is. not to diss you, im just giving my 2 cents.
Well notice I never claimed we get our morality from the Bible. I think there are some great moral truths contained therein but I argue that we all have access to this morality and the ability to get it right or wrong. As a Christian I think there are aspects of Scripture and the Holy Fathers that give us insight into living a moral life but everything regarding moral decisions is not contained within Scripture in my view.
