@cwood4ever The Catholic Church is the Immaculate Bride of Christ. That Vatican II sect, however, which apparently you are confusing with the true Catholic Church, is the Great Whore
Of course, everything in the name of Jesus, but be careful, there are many ways to God, respect all of them, be tolerant, love your brothers, and brotherhood is one big word depicting something we can not understand. As Cronin said, "...eat less, the entrance to Paradise is narrow ...". Got it?
See the "Directory for the Application of Principles and Norms on Ecumenism," issued by the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity from Vatican City, March 25, 1993.
I am appalled by this answer. What of ecumenism? Who are we as Catholics to judge others' worship? It was very clear that this lady's daughter was attending Mass and participating fully so why should she not attend and take part?
@organistlibrarian Ecumenism does not mean religious indifferentism. Protestant rejection of the sacrifice of the Mass is a rejection of the Apostolic faith passed down. It is right to condemn error and guide people away from it. .
@apopyalips Understand that Catholicism is a part of Christianity. Only because you do not call it Christianity, does not make them any less Christian than an Orthodox Christian, or an Anglican Christian. 1 John 2:22-23.
Look it up and understand what a non-Christian is.
thank God for the riches he has given to our protestant brother's and sister's. I am a Catholic who loves the Church, the whole Church Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant. We have a lot to learn fom each other. I have been greately enriched by attending worship in other churches..
protestant are group of sects, some are even heretical(mormons,adventist...) catolic church is reckognised church and is secound in hiararchy, orthodox church is first church and reckognised and it is in rank with catholic. only catholic and orthodox churches have their place in Jeses Teple in jerusalem, protestan don't have. and only Orthodox Patriarch can Summon Holy Spirit in jerusalem, pope can't do it ,and protestan cant too. but catholic is reckognised.
@redserb1389 uuuh, actually the Catholics used to attend and do the same thing like the Orthodox at the miracle of Pascha in Jerusalem, even after the schism, but then stopped attending, so yes, the miracle did happen with the Pope, and it is not the Orthodox Patriarch who can "summon" God's light, God's light descends by itself, but the patriarch is the guy sitting in the tomb waiting and praying!
@6MemoryOfForever9 no it have thing with praying, a asked patriarch assistent myself. i didnt say that popes didnt summon holy spirit(sorry for bad english) just that they cant do anymore after lightning struck church when summoning was in progres. i personay think that shizm of 1054 must be delt with in order to spred true christianity. and that is in progres and pope and patriarch should meet in nis in 2013 for celebration of milan edict.
@6MemoryOfForever9 and yes lightning struck when in curch was pope. but as you said if thay reckognise that it must be done as our way(and it was your way too not only our) than he can do.
Yes, and Protestants should not go to catholic services, otherwise they will stampede them into active participation of worship that is not CHRISTIAN.
@TheGenuineChristian Catholic worship is very sacred and follows a set pattern with Christ at its center, literally. Protestant worship is more focused on the congregation as sort of a weekly "pick-me-up" to relight their desires to serve Christ. Cardinal Arnze said it would be wrong to praticipate regularly for that would make it seem as one way of worship is no different than the other. That Catholic worship be made not sacred.
So then what about going to a protestant service with a friend? If we've been discussing the differences between Catholicism and the certain kind of Protestantism? If there's no real worry about doubts about Catholicism, combined with praying about it...is that permissible? To show open-mindedness, to experience it with her, but not changing?
@AlasseaTelrunya It is a heretical church. I have spoken with exorcists about this and just as one can cause spiritual problems in the home by having statues of false Gods such as Budha even though one doesnt believe in budha can becime infested so to some have had negative spiritual "occurences" from attending other heretical sects such as the protestants, but you have free will.
@AlasseaTelrunya No. Catholics must never attend non-Catholic services unless it is for an extraordinary reason such as the funeral of a family member. And even then, the Catholic must not pray aloud, sing, or participate in any way.
you just don't realize that Catholicism is the right religion, cuz you never been tough about Catholicism, it is quite obvious that you are the atheist one
Right just like you dont realize that Islam is the right relgion cause you didnt grow up in a Muslim country. OH and you dont realise that Zesus is god because you didnt happen to live in Ancient Grecce.
You just magically happen to be born in a family that just happen to worship the correct relgion.
Why would ANY true Catholic EVER set foot in a protestan church? Protestants are heretics according to Catholicism. Tell me who your friends are and Ill tell you what you are...
I know someone who is attending a protestant church because of his girlfriend but he is Catholic. So I hope he stops going to her church. He should not be afraid to stop going to her church. If she gets mad because he stops, then he should think twice of being with her. And he should start going to Mass again.
I am fed up with all this narrowminded bigotry. Are we not commanded to love one another? How can we reach out if we are so divided?

who has a sense of what the Divine is, after decades of banality and abuse in the liturgy.

actually im Catholic... @_@
J0Z3321 2 years ago
The reason I though you were an atheist is because you realise that all relgions folllow what they were told as a kid
For instance if you raised in a Muslim family you would likely becaome a Muslims
The obviously conclusion is that relgion is just based on culture and the only reason you are catholic is because you grew up in a catholic family
badpanda84 2 years ago
true that's very truth @_@
and in fact, your right that's why im catholic.....
sooo, about this Muslim thing, can you tell me about the Muslim culture?
i always have been interested in Muslim , but i don't know how to aproch the subject...
J0Z3321 2 years ago
You miss my point.
If you grew up in a Muslim country you would be Muslim
IF you grew up in ancient greece you \would belive in Zesus.
What makes you think that you just happend to be in a country were you just happen to worship the correct God.
