  • ¡Qué Belleza!

  • best version!

  • Weissenberg's version is "Weissenberg - Chopin - Posthume" :-)

  • Listen to Weissenberg's live performance on YT, it is surreal :-))

  • we all like him but he is a pole and he will always be

  • WineRedX you are right

  • One not sounds not right in this recording hmmmm 3:25 to 3:29 a wrong note was played

  • @Sonorite I was born with the diapason in the head, what allows me in the life to make regulations on instruments. I also know to read music , and i'm am a geat amateur of the truth music since my childhood. 3:25 and 3:29 are perfectly fine. I thing that will be better for you to stop rock'n roll and commercial music ...

  • some time the music is more full of felings than words, and this piece are one of the best examples!

  • a boy played this piece for me many years ago. We had just made love for the first time and while i was on his bed resting he went to his piano and begun playing. I'll never forget him.

  • ?? which edition is this? is this the original?

one thing about this nocturne, i find a lot of deviation in versions that people play. i wonder which is the true version that chopin wrote? anyone here knows? pls shed light on the different editions available for this piece! thanks!

  • @duhhh86 the piece calls for rubato so the original is dead with Chopin. its one of the things i would turn back time to hear!

  • amazing

  • This song makes me cry every time i hear it. so many emotions flow in me when I hear it. Simply amazing.

  • 41 persons lost their hearts

  • 1k of positive votes are mine because all the time i hear the song i thumb up the vídeo. \o

  • Just great

  • mają rację Ci, którzy piszą, że to smutne ponad miarę. Każda nuta gra na strunie człowieczego smutku jak orkiestra. Płakać się chce!

  • omg i love post-post-experimental proto-progressive avant-country baroque folk jazz grindcore but i also luv this, and im only a fetus!

  • @MachineMalfunction jeeze i cannot stop laughing :D

  • @MachineMalfunction that was pretty dam epic man... and im one of those people who hate saying epic! 5 thumbs up!

  • @MachineMalfunction I'm sorry, but this comment is so well written and expressed that I had to respond to it.

  • @MachineMalfunction The fuck xD

  • @MachineMalfunction Those genres are very coherent with classical music. No wonder you like Chopin!

  • Did they put this in Tegami Bachi too?

  • Todo pasión,sentir al máximo los mas grandes y fuertes sentimientos, con toda el alma...inmensamente bello.

  • Jakże cudowna jest noc i wszystkie jej odcienie wysublimowane, wcześniejszym wieczorem i cudownym ,zbawiennym deszczem ...

  • @jackjusten

Więc dlaczego komentarz po angielsku?! ;)

  • @jackjusten I like polish people but you should know something,he belongs to everyone, to all who love classical music and are sentimental.

  • zomg i love metal but i like this too, and im only 5.

  • Really like the way how he play this nocturne of Chopin;(So beautiful and so much emotion he put into it.

    I start to learn this Nocturne with a Virtuoso and i learn a lot from this video;

I play myself piano(can see my channel if you want)

  • Probably my favourite performance on youtube, even though I'm not normally a huge fan of Barenboim as a pianist.

  • @descara3 Listen to Pletnev's interpretation, also very commendable.

  • such an emotion

  • stupendoooo:x

  • 1:30 that's the beginning of my favourite part :)

  • In love..

  • is this the best interpretation of this track? this has to be my favorite nocturne and i have Moravec's cd of the nocturnes which is amazing but sadly this track isn't on there:(

  • I love Arrau. But I think that the Baremboim's interpretation of this Nocturne is better.

  • @DafniElissa ... WHY compare? Why not enjoy them individually - both in their own glory? Try it!

  • @mmbmbmbmb I don't try it. I do it. But since I am a piano student I'm supposed to develop my critical skill by comparing different interpretations, too.

  • @DafniElissa ... sorry DafniElissa, surely I ment no harm. However I still think with two such great pianists there really is no such thing as one being "better" than the other. They just have a different "take" on the piece.

Hope you have much joy with your studies - but also with listening to various interpretations ;o)

  • @mmbmbmbmb I know what you mean...and of course I recognise them both as great pianists, the point is that I just prefer one interpretation to another. It doesn't mean that one is better and the other is bad...In fact I prefer Arrau normally, but this time I like Baremboim most! It's just me...they're both masters! Thanks, enjoy you, too :)

  • ' The pianist ' music chooser picked up a right song..so touching

  • Beautiful interpretation !

  • perfection

  • A truly beautiful piano performance. Violinists will find it interesting to listen to Nathan Milstein's two extraordinary recordings (both on Youtube) of his own arrangement of this Nocturne. Milstein himself said, in an interview when he was in his 80s, that the reason he wrote violin arrangements of some well-known pieces that were not written for violin, is that he believed that in most ways they went better on the violin. This Nocturne is a fine example, but most other violinists mess it up.

  • so deep

  • Possibly the only piece of music that manages to consistently make me cry. All the nocturnes are gorgeous, I think this is my favorite for now.

  • One of these days I'll learn to ignore the comments and simply enjoy this gorgeous music.

  • fantastique !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @theyellowqilin actually it shows how our youth is boastful in there ownselves rather than THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE GOD.

  • i love metal but i love classical too. i'm so much more mature than my friends i'm like an adult but i'm only 7 years old! i'm awesome! i hope this comment enriched everybody's livesssssss

  • @TheYellowQilin must be trollin'

    but why here kid

  • @Bluebott1 See top comment.

But in all seriousness. This piece is absolutely heart-wrenching.

  • @TheYellowQilin

I like this too, and I'm only 64.

  • @jigoku66 I love you bro.

  • Stop talk about Justin Bieber on EVERY video on youtube. crap, it's Chopin! Shut UP and Listen!

  • Beautifull and deep.

  • much as I love this piece and this pianist, I gotta wonder why there's two minutes of silence tacked onto the end.

  • this is amazing..the feeling it creates just takes you in another world..

  • oh my god.. i dont believe,38 dont like Wtf

  • ...

  • I ADORE BARENBOIM PLAYING...........

  • music = emotion

    literature = ideas

    painting = intuition

  • I totally love this piece. I play it when ever I can get to a piano. I also love Melenie Safka (I've got a brand new pair of roller skate's), and (Boogie Woogie Bugel Boy) The Andrews sister's. Chopin was so brilliant, but Lennon and McCartney were also brilliant. There are many other's like the BEE GEE's and Fallout Boy. The world is full of music if you don't limit yourself.

  • @Klaaaan1 I love Chopin and I like The Andrews Sisters, too ahahaah!

  • Refinement all over..beautiful!

  • Nice :D

  • i love rammstein and chopin too :D

  • indiscutibile è Magico..

  • can you tell me what it's called a song that is played with the violin? This song is quite famous, is also included in films such as the pianist, you have seen? Here's this song is also in that movie.

  • Thank you to those who commented on my earlier positing regarding the additional notes - I heave learned something indeed!

  • Your expression is beautiful to me. Also, love the tempo at which you play this piece. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song. I hope to play this as well as you do some day.

  • جامدة جدا

  • @fo2shshsh agree :D

  • This is interpretation needs work. Wrong notes are everywhere, for example, 3:26, measure 55 it is a a natural, not A sharp as this guy played. He crescendos when he should diminuendo, and does nothing when he should crescendo and move the line along. I mean, its still beautiful ,but to be in the ranks of Arrau and Richter, it needs much more attention to detail. I wouldn't put myself playing this unless it was completely perfect. Look up Claudio Arrau's version of this, Kit499 for perfection.

  • Wunderschön <3

  • it's verry beutifule :D

  • why does every retard post " zomg i love metal but i like this too, and im only 5." - nobody gives a shit...

  • @coltin5 Amen brother.

  • @coltin5 There R many that grow up believing that it is you can't enjoy both hard rock & classical because they are so opposing in styles or that you can't listen to classical unless you are a fag because only a fag would listen to classical. I am sorry to say that I fell into the latter & would not listen to it except at night because "It is so bad it bores me to sleep" Some people are coming off as I did or just believe the former. I'm glad I grew up & I hope others do. Glad U like it death60

  • @coltin5

You think your or my opinion matters anyway?

  • @coltin5 Because some silly people believe that you have to be of a certain age to appreciate some forms of music.

Music isn't and shouldn't be bound by age. Its for everyone :3

  • @coltin5 Why does every retard post ''zomg i hate ppl who make comments like this and nobody likes it'' , dude believe or not, you are no a minority when it comes to overly used comments.

  • @coltin5

retard post : "omg i love metal but i like this too"

brilliant post : "omg i hate metal and i like this"

  • This is so metal

  • Sounds more Jazz than Romantic. Kinda slow too. Great attempt though.

  • Jakże smutne,.jakże cudowne.To jest dzieło ukochane.

  • the best song .... i love it <3

  • it's a drug

  • Every single note kills you. The following brings you to life again.

  • I do like this rendition. It can be so subjective, but all I can go on his how I strive to play it. I understand that certain editions must have no treble clef notes in the "Animato" triplet section but what is with the E sharp in the fourth and thrid-last bars? My edition has E natural there, keeping it in C#minor until the second-last bar. Is there a Chopin scholar out there who can explain the discrepancy, and which is more likely to be Chopin's 'intention' ?- my vote goes for E natural.

  • not so convincing... I've heard way, way better...

  • Magistrale

  • Why does Barenboim have additional notes for his right hand between bar 34 and 44? According to my sheet music there is absolutely nothing to play in the right hand. Compare Barenboim's version with Aldo Cicconi's... Have I missed something?

  • @puyi101 Probably because it was edited after Chopin's death, there are more than one version of this nocturne. Actually, this one is exactly like the sheet I have, so it is not that Baremboim decided to add notes freely.

  • @puyi101 also on my sheet music there's nothing for the right hand in those bars.

  • @puyi101 I think - maybe because it was released posthumously - that there are a lot of differences between different editions of the piece. I've even heard that Chopin's original score was polymetric - sadly unverified, but I would love it to be true.

  • oh my god...i m 17 and i m italian...i haven t ever thought that i could listen classical music..but this is a real magic trick...it ipnotize you..is incredible

  • i love this song.♥

  • omF. 34 d..f People Here!!
