I've bought the Ibanez SA 120ex yesterday - I'm so excited ! -3 I had a hard time choosing between the SA 120 (bk?) and the SA 120 ex but I chose the EX because it's better looking and the pickups are covered nicely ;)

the price difference is 2-5 bucks or something. its really not much i belive. Look at same musicstore homepages for more info.

But the EX is a good first guitar, it was my first electric guitar. And its much better looking than the sa 160

You should not look at a couple of dollars or euros..buy the one that fits u but this Ex is better looking:P

My tremolo arm locks in either the flat position or just slightly out when you're using it. he sort of pops and can leave the guitar out of tune by the slightest amount

my guitar does not do that, and if your guitar does that...maybe its the strings

Sorry my guitar does it, not yours lol.

I just changed the strings and i've had all sorts of troubles with intonations and string heights. I've sorted most of it out and I absolutely love playing it.

what about the springs, and the bridge height. If you tighten the springs it will bring back the bridge and loosen forward.. and so on. But remeber to loosen the strings when doing so

well the only thing is maybe if u play alot with the tremelo the guitar can get out of tune a bit

Yeah the guitar souns great. Yor friends are wrong. Ibanez are made to sound heavy. The humbuckers on the guitar makes it really good to play metal and rock songs on. If you like clean sounds its amazing for that to. Ibanez makes really good guitars. So I would buy it. I have now owned it for 2 months now and its sounds still great.

I have normal sa120. yea it sounds realy good, much better than some fender guitars. Best for the price for shure.
