  • just because the technology allows for a sync feature doesnt mean people that use this software actually press sync.. Seems to be a pretty common misconception among "djs".

  • @edyken77 i'm gonna have to disagree with you on that. i'm a controllerist and turntablist and i have worked with EVERYTHING from cdj's, to digital, to old school vinyl. the skill of djing IS NOT just about beatmatching. shit's gotten WAY more technical now. there is nothing, and i mean NOTHING that digital vinyl can achieve that regular vinyl can. i suggest getting digital vinyl so that you can learn the basics and then move on to the more modern style of djing. the past is the past. move on.

  • You have to drive a go cart before you can step into a F1 car. Start at the bottom! WAX ON WAX OFF!!!! Otherwise you will turn up to a club or event where they have just a set of decks and an old mixer and not know what to do.

  • who elses mouth watered over all this new stuff?

  • Comment removed

  • that guy needs to control his levels

  • @XscudX

Why? Sounds like you need to learn about how mixers work. If it were clipping, you'd know about it. And it isn't...manufacturers build the mixers with a safety net. They say, for the DJM800 (for example) that there's two theoretical LEDs above the top one. So even if you push it to the top, there's still headroom.

Come on, it's 2012...give the hardware manufacturers some credit, they aren't idiots you know.

  • What is the name of the sampler???

  • Like!!!

  • when i was growing up we never had hitech djin gear or good pc's we simply had 2 tables and a mixer and each old school dj sit and practiced day in day out for menny years untill we learned and youtube wasnt there back then so everythin i learned came from my mind.

  • train your ears on real decks otherwise ur gona be training your ears to a synk button with no skill needed period.

  • Back in the mists of time........I started with a set of belt drives. Beat matching n mixing took practice. Direct drive was a doddle after that and when I was gifted a set of 1210s...... that rocked my world. Now fiddling with Mixtrack Pro in the mix, makes it easy as pie. Choppin up the samples n beats in the new era is the crowd pleaser.

  • @FaithlessM3 yeah bud belt drives where the days lol then trying to sell them to get direct drives was even better :P nice dj experiance sounds like mine also mate but a moved away from the decks worked on acid6 doing pella mashups megamixing little stuff then went to fl studio makin beats remixing some and pop on virtual dj now and agaon to do radio jams but if a was to pick from real decks and virtual dj it would be decks for enjoyment and vdj for lazyness tbh lol

  • @djdiligence as a scratch dj this could be handy :) traktor or serato witch one who knows but a hear traktor has better sounds then serato but no sure even know the prices are sky high its pritty good av linked my decks up to virtual dj without buying traktor and serato and it works fine so not complaining :P

  • Why are people being so dumb about what program you use?If you're good at something then use it.Not everyone has 1000 dollars laying around to do this shit.I'm not claiming to be pro,but I like to do it for fun.I'm learning still and I'm terrible, but at least I'm trying.Seriously pay respect to the old ways?Paying respect gains you nothing if you're terrible.Every program can help you beatmatch, you don't have to use the sync button.Do with what you feel comfortable with.

  • first track ?

  • In the end.. you're all arguing over who plays someone else's music better. live and let live. being so resistant to change like this just makes you sound ignorant.

  • My vinyl doesn't crash like other shit i had!

  • beat sync makes it easier to do the really difficult things that take live mixes to the next level, like live remixing or maschining. cooler sounding live production trumps the ability to time beats together in my book. and it's not impossiburu to know how to do both!!

  • What are some good turntables?

  • @DJPoke2 Numark TTX..affordably priced and has more torque than 1200's. ALSO you can use a S shaped or straight tone arm.

  • @MysteryMixes What about Pioneer CDJ 2000 ?

  • @DJPoke2 LOL......well those are CDJ's not turntables. And if you can afford it - GO FOR IT. And yeah - those are basically the ferraris of CD players. I'd personally just get a CDJ900/850.........especially if you're going to use Traktor but either way...you really can't go wrong with pioneer. Im' personally a turntable guy but Pioneer is a solid brand

  • @MysteryMixes Well what do you recommend for beginners I was thinking Numark -IDJ3

  • @DJPoke2 Usually I would say avoid midi control but it's 2012 and time for me to adapt. I'm too young to be an old man lol. Get a Behringer CMD Studio 4a. It hasn't come out yet but it's $200 with 4 chan control, 6'' jog wheels, 8 cue points, buitin I/O, and has a full pitch fader. Watch some of the vids on it. It's really the best controller in terms of price and it has the features of a $700 controller. Get Traktor Pro 2....Serato is for rich kids lol

  • fuck you traktor

  • theres like a billion buttons on that thing does a Dj know each and every one of them and what its function is? nice machine.

  • what kind of turntables r those??

  • @dylanguo345 Technics 1200 and @gdbngkasjfbgi well fuck you too then.

  • @dylanguo345 oh no...maybe 1210s. all the same.

  • Anyone know the name of the first track in the video?

  • ahhh traktor making djing easy for anyone...

  • have a Feeling

  • i have a feeling that traktor s6 is coming out :) or the s5

  • thanks! i can really see how the sync buttton makes dj's more retarted now.

  • One big fukin talent button.. mixing tracks isnt the hardest thing to master any so y would u need a sync button

  • Serato all the way

  • Yea ,real djs don't need auto sync..bubble gum wanna be djs

  • @blackistheword7 i know what u mean, but this is the furure now and it gives you more freedom to be more creative over songs. i was thinking if u dj breaks itd be good to set up an electric drum kit aong to.

  • get off your laptop and learn how to actually dj

  • sync? il pass

  • trop tueur, je vais pouvoir retourner le Club Pimkie en un disque

  • fuck you sync button.

  • pleasee i just need to know how to use my traktor kontrol x1 with my traktor scratch pro 2 please help

  • i like technology and i embrace it....i wouldnt make techno otherwise. decks and effects, looping station...scratch ,cut and paste .....anything...ANYTHING but automatic beatmatching man. it's like singing on playback or lipsinching. i can understand the need for programs like tractor but beatmatching...leave it to the djs i say. i would not pay 15-20 pounds to go and see an overpaid dj on autopilot going nuts on effects or whatever...my f...... sister could do that.

  • @andygaro1 basically it creates this whole generation of noob assholes who disregard beatmatching as a necessary technical skill. Would you pay to see a pianist on a self playing yamaha piano? This music isn't created on the fly, so there has to be SOMETHING the dj is doing that is technical skill besides messing with loops and effects. Beatmatching is(was) that skill and now it's just not valued like it was. Oh well, guess we better get used to DJ Trevor Trev and DJ Pauly Douchebag types.

  • why u telling me.?look at previous pages of conversations i had with twats telling me about "time has moved on...beatmatching is an obstacle for djs-.auto-synch allows djs to open their minds",it's all crap.I reckon djs should sweat hard for the money they earn...and anyway..finding the right pitch to the beat is crucial to me in order to get an organic feel to the mix.it's like a ritual,it's about alligning your energy to the music, alligning your spiritual energy body to the music spectrum...

  • @andygaro1 never heard it put that way! Love it.

  • @edyken77 it does on mdma anyway...lol or k for that matter....even though i much prefer the first one!! ( ...if anyone was forcing me..of course....)

  • Whats the name of the club song in the beginning?

  • "Smach my bich up" LOL :D

  • SAME BPM? ALREADY MATCHED? WHERE'S THE SKILL IN THAT? THE FUN?....EVEN A BLOODY MONKEY COULD DO THAT THEN? I CAN'T BELEIVE THIS.....WHAT'S THE NEXT DJ GONNA BE THEN...A COMPUTER JUKEBOX?

  • @andygaro1 djing is not just about beatmatching

  • @mrhusi driving is not just about being able to go from a to b without a tom tom !! being good at math is not just about not using a calculator....

  • @andygaro1 worst comparisons ever.

  • @mrhusi is it??...then i shall think that u use a tomtom to go around and a calculator to do the math. I reckon djs should sweat hard for the money they earn...and anyway..finding the right pitch to the beat is crucial to me in order to get an organic feel to the mix . it's like a ritual...it's about alligning your energy to the music...alligning your spiritual energy body to the music spectrum...

  • @mrhusi........when that happens there's magic happening in your mix which results in your inner genius coming out...connecting with the music and therefore the croud. if u dont know what i mean....and honestly think u haven't got a clue my friend....then you never experienced such levels.....it's a lost war with this new generation.

  • @andygaro1 You are waaay overreacting. People on the dancefloor don't have a clue what you are doing..they just respond to the pretty tunes they hear...club/festival dj's are way overhyped anyways and take themselves far too serious. Anyone with a few years of practice can beatmatch. I too am a traditional dj who had to learn the hard way back in the days, but times change...deal with it. Beatmatching does give a sense of accomplishment, but also holds dj's back..I welcome this new era.

  • @Jete246 you're right. you're right. sigh.... I mean, I can mix quicker just by looking at the bpms and all, which is pretty cool. But fuck, beatmatching used to separate the men from the boys.

  • @Jete246 ive been djing for about 5 months just using virtual dj and then i got numark mixtrak and i can beat match, djing is so over rated i think all you have to do is sync-beat match-fade and then youve made a mix

  • @regard60

Just like anything if you look at it like that. Being an author is a piece of piss too, I can write and own a pen and paper. As for Hollywood directors, I've done that too using the camera on my phone. Don't know why people think it's talent, eh?

  • @andygaro1 im djing for about 4 years and im actually able to beatmatch and i know the feeling you are talking about, but i think the new possbilites of digital systems are offering something that would be too hard with beatmachting yourself.. if you know what i mean.

  • @mrhusi for me...effects(kp3 or mixer built in effects or a combination of the 2) plus a looping station is enough. i very much embrace the fact that u can select and prearrange your set on the laptop (although that's another thing that comes with the natural feel of inner genious--being able to select tracks from your bag with feel) cause s.times it can all go wrong.allthough i always find it challenging and fun to make-do with what i got and maybe cut and paste the track at a suitable moment..

  • @andygaro1 totally agreeing. but i think the new concepts presented in this video are allowing to try new techniques and allowing more flexibility; where it is not just based on beatmatching. i think one should be open-minded towards changes and new developments

  • @mrhusi u wanna have the last word?.....take it then!...otherwise we could go on for 5 years i think. i stick to what i said...i'll leave the auto-beatmatching to "two many djs " and the lipsinching to lady gaga.!!

  • @andygaro1 Turn it off then?...

  • first track ID ?!

  • the way how to get on tracks like a dmc champion dj is shown at 2:25

whatch the title of "deck B"

Doctor P - Sweet Shop (Original Mix) iLovEalekireland.blogspot.com.mp3

    just search for "ilovealekireland"

  • cool

    very Good :D

  • Oh, so that's where LMFAO got their inspirartion... 2:35

  • They make these comercials so good that almost convince everybody to go back to vinyl. Once you spent thousands of dollars on this shit you are on you own and basically going insane because you want your shit to run as smooth as the comercial. I bet the dj playing and scratching in this video does't have the most remote idea in how to hook up all this shit up.

  • @TheOlavarria49 Waste of my time to go into detail but you're really dumb.

  • Fucking Rawh!

  • I like that part, where's he's mixing.

  • @MrTraxai you are real funny man!! NOT

  • what turntables are used???

  • @WatchMusicTV techincs sl-1210 mk2

  • does the bpm return on its own?

  • @djBOMBLiKE it depends how you setup your settings

  • dear Santa....

  • i would like to start doing some djing but i have no idea where to start/what to do. any suggestions?

  • @lawettersanchez start off using software, i recomend virtual dj home free, then once u get the hang of it and enjoying it make your way to a midi controller or turntables and a mixer

  • @lawettersanchez start with virtual dj theres a free version then u know what to do u can use serato ar traktor this and if u want turntables and a mixer its alot of money but on ebay theres a full set called ibattlepack for like 300 bucks good luck :)

  • @lawettersanchez first think of what kind of style you want to mix...that get some gear for you style of mixing..and then just practice bro...

  • @lawettersanchez Do not listen to those who tell you to start with virtual DJ. Do you want to be just another laptop DJ with no ability or do you want to learn how to match beats and have actual skill? Mr. Miyagi did not teach Daniel Son the Crane Kick first. He had to learn several other things before that. Do NOT start with virtual DJ. Get some old decks or cdjs and a mixer and learn how to beatmatch. Pay respect to the history of djing and learn the right way.

  • @edyken77 thats not even true... i started with virtual DJ when i was 14 and then learn the basics there and then fuked with vinyl and CDJ's after.... now i'm 21 and djing in some of the biggest clubs in NYC..... pacha and webster hall to name a few.... virtual DJ is good to learn the basics because its so simple... you don't start off a video game on hard right?? thats just my opinion and it worked out for me.... i hate people who take virtual DJ and say there good but to be a beginner why not?

  • @krazylakerfan628 beatmatching is beatmatching and it's hard to learn no matter what else you've done first. That is why I suggest learning it first. By the time you get good at it, you've learned many other skills along the way like eq balance and how to arrange tracks so they don't sound like crap together. Congrats on your success man, I can only dream to play at a hot NYC club.

  • @edyken77 Thats a lie, I've learned how to chop and screw music with Virtual DJ and I can use the real turntables. Hell I know people who are way better than a lot of main stream dj's and still use Virtual DJ. Don't knock it when you don't use it.

  • @krome411 that's cool, but by use the real turntables, do you mean you're using them with a laptop with traktor and a bpm coutner or just completely manual, beatmatching by ear? Im not knocking virtual dj, im just saying if you cant beat match you should learn that first. Just my suggestion.

  • @edyken77 I moved on from VDJ. Now Using Serato itch with the Numark NS7

  • @edyken77 a respect this comment mate a started 10 years ago as a scratch dj only through the years a tryed loads of softwares like vdj and sony acid 6 now a can use anything but it makes it easy to just grab some decks and pull out some great sets.

  • @edyken77 Amen. I started on vinyl (1995)and moved to cd(2008). now i play midi. I have an appreciation for all three formats. And I agree that ALL DJs should at least know how to use a record player.

  • @edyken77

I assume you learnt on turntables with no pitch control, using records with unsteady, live tempos, then?

  • @djtimwright Naw Tim Wright, just with no bpm counter or wav form.

  • @edyken77

Great, same here but I still have respect for the guys who come from a different era. I really don't see the need for them to learn a method which they will never use. I mean, if one of these new breed of DJs can't mix on vinyl but can mix tracks on Traktor whilst utilising the fx to their full potential, and dropping in samples and loops, all harmonically, does that make him any worse than somebody who can blend too tracks together on vinyl, but nothing more?

  • awesome. but does this dude even notice that his levels are distorting?

  • @JosephCee every dj has that man :P

  • 38 poors guys :)

  • I must have replayed 3:00 - 4:00 at least 100 times so far

  • sweetshop :D

  • why does the tempo keep on alternating on the time codes?

  • attention everyone looking for that synth solo at 3:00! if you own Native Instrument's Massive! there's a synth sound that I found that is damn close to the sound in this solo! its a premade one in the Synth Lead section called "Complete Fck" spelled exactly like that . if you fuck around with the FX and the Envolopes you can get this exact sound! cheers :) thumbs up so people can know!!!

  • @brandonshreds I thought it was all of the lights by Kanye West?

  • @PowerzGFX yeah the beat is! but the synth solo is something totally different

  • @brandonshreds oh thanks :D

  • don't buy this shit just if you wanna put your money on trash...

  • @miguelitopegueros lol what the fuck are you talking about?

  • ww.emporiodj.es

tu tienda online sonido e iluminacion profesional

  • tracklist please...

  • is he using timecode vinyls ? and where do you get them ?!

  • @lockaaas the shop

  • @ilovehomerr eh you can have your sync buttons we dont need em lol. nah just jokin It'd be nice if Serato had some of traktors features (aside froms sync of course) I think serato should improve its effects cuz some of em dont sound too hot.

  • @TheWaynelds I have serato in my 57sl and I'm getting tsp2 for my second setup with my vestax pmc 05 pro iv. i love serato, its simple and easy to use. Everyone bashes the sync function in traktor. it does sort of take away from the art cuz any dj should know how to use a regular pitch, but being able to jus load up the next track and have it the same tempo as the one playing is a huge advantage... in the club no one gives a rats ass whether u know how to use the pitch on a turntable or not

  • i witnessed it myself. I was busting my balls at a club this one night, and i laid down a tight set. I was doing fast transitions, pitching and all, sweating my ass off. anyways, i rocked the crowd. the next dj that came up after me tho, he used traktor, i didn't even know about the sync feature at the time but with minimal effort he was boxing out tracks and had time to mess with effects cuz he didn't need to bother getting the tracks in tempo. goes without saying what the people thought

  • It sucks its like $700

  • Narrator, plz, schhhhh....

  • does anyone know the name of the song at 0:08

  • @dalesproductions654 It was many sample from loomaster dj mix tool minimal techno

Exactely: Techhouse 2 bass Techhouse 2 drums Techhouse 2 lead

  • can someone tell me the main differences between Traktor Scratch Pro 2 and Traktor Scratch Duo 2 ?

  • @LauchEleven just go to there website it should be stated there clearly but i think if its like the tsp 1 then its the effects and amount of decks supported

  • @LauchEleven duo is basically a striped down versoin of pro. less fx, no recording that kind of thing. theres a comparison chart on the NI website that will tell u everything u need to know.

  • does it come with a handbook lol? aha if i got this i wouldnt even know what to do with it. probably just look at it

  • does anyone know the song at 5:05 ?

  • what synth or sample is he using at 3:15 ? i really need to know :)

  • @BioFurry it is an, unfortunately, unsolved mystery :/ I'm going to fuck around in massive and see if I can make it.

  • did anybody else notice notice at like 3:30 during the synth solo the left platter isn't moving? is the kanye west beat just coming from one of the other decks in traktor?

  • @brandonshreds There is no music on any vinyl here at all!!!

  • shut the fuck up damn narrarator

  • lol torrent it.

  • depends i'll get addicted to traktor if you gimme everything for free + x2 pioneer cdj 2000 and DJM 900 nexus mixer and apple macbook pro then i'll let you know how it goes :D
