i just fixed my computer that got this crazy virus thing called security suite. my webroot antivirus with spy sweeper was overrided by the fake program and i had to go to safe mode and system restore. The fake program was in the quarantine after that so i tink it is gone but i would like to try something else or upgrade so i dont have to go through that again

It's the most obnoxious antivirus software I've ever used.

It's soooo obnoxious, they even have a "Turn Gamer Mode On" just to keep it quite for a while.And sometimes Windows Vista doesn't detect it.Windows saying "Firewall, or w/e isn't active!"And it updates and tell you that you're safe from 105402 virus threats after every boot and after every few hours, while also telling you how many threats you have every few hours.

Just save yourself and read these words.

Don't get Webroot antivirus.

@Rafietech101 I uninstall it by going to control panel---remove programs. It says that it has been removed from my pc but the whole program is on my c/: drive. I tried do it in in safe mode, manually and it does not let me uninstall it. I just left it there because i gave up. I did try other washer programs but none of them can get rid off it.

I have some experience in Uninstalling stubborn programs. ANY app can be gotten rid of.

1st: Go to SAFE MODE. Then-control panel-double click on "computer"-program files. Find Webroot files and Right Click. Select delete.

Reboot into Normal Mode.

Now download CCleaner and run both Cleaner and Registry options.

3rd : Download File Assassin from Malwarebytes site and use it if necessary.

4th : Get REVO Uninstaller and use it if necessary. After several reboots and cleanings, it will be gone.

On my desktop, Windows and Iolo System Mechanic both indicate relentlessly that I have no anti-virus protection when I run Webroot Internet Security Essentials. Since this product was recently #1 in a major review of security software, I hate having to wonder how effective it truly is. Can you help?

I have to say, I've never heard of this before. It could be a quirk in your windows settings. As for Iolo, I wouldn't care what they have to say. Webroot has a great AV. If you go to msoft's site, you will likely find the answer there. Otherwise, go to webroot's forums and ask. NOTE: You may want to open webroot and check to make sure the Real-Time Protection is actually turned on!! Maybe its not!! Also, download a copy of MBAM Free and run a full scan. Just to be sure.

Well, it doesn't lock up my PC, it works great.

It detects virus and spyware that other misses. I highly recommened it. It's not heavy on the cpu also.

You didn't really give Webroot a chance. Your PC locked up because it's infected! Not because of Webroot. I didn't see you try safemode. SafeSweeper.exe would have worked. You gave up way too easily. It is my experience that the spysweeper engine along with Sophos AV detects and removes better than any of the other products on the market. I think you let your personal biases get in the way of this pathetic excuse for a review.

Actually the av is from Sophos(top tier engine), the firewall from Privacyware (Top Tier) and SpySweeper is actually its weakest part. I have used the AS on a highly infected system not that long ago and from all contendors it did worst with zero detection but i have no idea how the realtime protection would do before infection would take place.

I have webroot antivirus with antispyware and their desktop firewall, I haven't had a virus in about 2 years, no joke, I'm very happy with webroot. This video is interesting, as you said webroot is a big program to load and I think with the amount of viruses that are on that PC they are preventing it from loading, due to the fact that there are so many eating the performance. BTW what are the specs of the PC and did you contact support?

U Use AVG Free. I used AVG Internet Security. It found 7 infections and 5 spyware and easily quarantine it. Before this I used norton 2008, It doesn't detect anything

Problem with the review is that you need to fist clean your machine out of bad software, then install Webroot softare, and then start installing those viruses and spywares to see if Webroot blocks them :-P My head is spinning... great review though... :-P
