It´s obvious that pcie 2.0 will perform better than pcie 1.0 with the same pcie 2.0 compliant graphics-card. If you pay an amount of money don't you want to get the best possible product for that money? This is what it's about I think, having the best possible option for the amount of money you want to pay.The 2 products are in the same price range but with the price/performance clearly going in AsRock's way.I have that Asrock board and had no problems and also had Gigabyte still no problems but the price was considerable higher in the Gigabyte case.
like i said before the p43 is effectively better and most intelligent solution comparing to the p35, and thanks to asrock design of their motherboards, they make this p43 support higher FSB's like 1600mhz what is very impressive, and the pci-e 2.0 is just a must because of graphics cards that still to come.
P43 from Asrock is the practical solution for the present and the future time , you can not regret if u get it , it is clearly shown in the video that all what you can think of is there and even what you may not think of is supported as well , Asrock always rocks
20% performance improvement on the p43 pci-e II than the p35 is a considerable difference , an important notice for gamers , and a possibilty for taking all the juice out of the most recent graphic cards on the lovely Asrock deigned board
Asrock P43 MB offers you the advantage of PCIE 2.O at a much lower price than P45 motheboard, even though Asrock have the less expensive P45 MB, P45TS.
I made 3 computers with the P43 and they all work great and they are cheaper then anything else in the same category, but by no means lower in performance and futures.
The placement of the power connectors is less fortunate but hey this is what you get when you don't want to pay 200$ for a motherboard but you want all the bells and DDR3 for the future.
Not one of Asrock's biggest fan...they are usually late in integrating new technologies in thier MB, but they still get a few + for making stable, cheap and long-lasting MBs.
Don't be fooled by the cheap prices on their products, Asrock motherboards are currently one of the best today. Year after year, they amaze me on how they improve in making motherboards. Price, performance, durability and features, Asrock mobo's has it all. I am currently using one of their products and whenever I build a system for someone, I always choose one of their products. In the past 3 years that I had purchase a product made by Asrock, all are still working and in top condition.
Asrock always make a practical advanced motherboards which can overcome other brands at the same category easily ,and always surprising us with what we dream of in motherboards :)
The P43 from Asrock have PCIE 2.O graphic interface which gives you more performance than PCIE 1.O and is moore futureproof. Also Asrock P43 support DDR3, so the best choice
yeah that's it! i totaly confirm it. my cheaper asrock p43twins really did good comparing to my friend gigabyte p35 board, and i think i will have the advantage in a near future because of the pci-e 2.0 that these boards/chipset offer. pci-e 1.1 is starting to bottleneck the newest graphics cards.. and having pci-e 2.0 will make me save money and have a performance edge if i upgrade my graphics cards in the next months. and the board has a very affordable priceas well!
Great video. I used to think (like many people) that pci-e 2.0 was a technology with no or little advantage now. I was WRONG. Thanks for the video, it will help people how to choose better.
Awsome! P43 is good. 3DMark Vantage is a bit too powerfull i think, I have seen some systems useing this progeram with a smooth framerate but not even a 8800GT can get a smooth framerate.... ah well lol. Great vid =)
P43 is a good budget mainboard and with PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot have a great graphics performace, for gamers who want to spend more in video card and save some money this is a mainboard to look for, I wonder if there CrossFire with this chipset?
@MrAnsh1991 hello yes MSI P43Neo support overclocking but with a solid CPU FAN and Heatsinks, but for that overclok Q9550 @4.00 Ghz is better P45 chipset to overclocking, good luck.
P43 VS P35 : P43 Allow PCI Express 2.0 bandwith and DDR 3, P35 allow PCI Express 1.1 and DDR 2 memory, I think P43 it's more ready for play and give better score.
The P43 is the version "cut" of the famous one P45, since only it lacks the support for Crossfire with cards ATI and involves compatibility improved with memories DDR3 and processors of last generation in 45 nanómetros with socle LGA775.
Since I use Motherboard bought ASROCK reason eh ... have generally been very durable, have an excellent performance and had never eh serious problems. Lately the Motherboards ASROCK have high quality and this means more performance. Congratulations
so, 20% performance increase with pci-e 2.0. it might still be because the gx2 does not use the entire bus capability. anyway, if the boards are in the same price range i'd go asrock
I've used ASRock motherboards for a couple years now. At first I wasn't sure because I didn't know their name, but now ASRock has earned my respect as a solid manufacturer. Best price, best performance and best overall!
I do research at the Department Engineering of Warwick University and decided to update my computer. I asked colleagues to advice a reliable and fine motherboard I could trust and they were naming Asus, Gateway, Intel or Asrock. I checked the motherboards and have chosen the Asrock P43 based board, because it has P43 chip with PCI-E 2.0, overclocking, DDR3, 1600 FSB and reliable name. Now I am using it and I will not disappoint my colleagues at the university with the board performance.
It is some truth about the video cards but a lot of marketing involved, still it is very good to see a MB 20% cheaper and 13-14% faster than it's rival but let's not forget that not only the PCI Express 2.0 is doing the work but a whole new chipset with new south bridge so it is also a normal difference from 2 range of products of different life cicles.P43 is only begining as the era of P35 is dawning, so thank you Asrock for delivering new, performant and cheap new tehnology to the masses.
Thanks for the test results! Its pretty surprising that P4x series chipsets are that much faster in Vantage than the P3x chipsets. Wonder why that is. Looking at the block diagrams,Certainly good to know, though. If anybody asks what board they should get it'll definitely be a P4x board in the future! Preferably an P4x AsRock, apparently ;-)
Ah, that's true. Good point there - the PCIe 2.0 standard is 50% quicker than the 1.1 standard. I suppose if you consider the performance of a card like the 9800GX2 you might be able to saturate the PCIe bus at certain times. Amazing how quickly graphics cards have advanced. Just 2 or 3 years ago it was almost unthinkable to fully saturate even an AGP 8X bus, and now even a PCIe 1.1 x16 slot has troubles keeping up!
man thats a hell of alot of an increase. Looking forward to getting me one of those pcie 2 boards. At the moment im runing an old evga no way near as good.
Bought the P43Twins1600 just when it was available and what can I say I love it. Makes good home with my E7200 and XFX 9600GT.Glad I made this choice and don't regret even for second. Great board, cheap fast if it would have hade solid caps would have been perfect for me but the price/performance ratio is really good comparing with competition. All the best Asrock, keep up the good work and congratulations for moving to the mainstream market.
Awesome, I'm still running on an ASRockDual-SATA2 and I'm satisfied with its performance. Just reformatted with my new hard drive. Gotta get ready for Diablo 3... I'm so stoked.
I think I'm gonna buy the P34Twin from NewEgg. It looks like a great product with an affordable price and a lot of room for ram. 6 SLOTS UP TO DDR3 1333! It also supports core2 quad and vista which is awesome. I can't believe that this is only 70 bucks which is a great price and it competes very well with the large brands out there. Great job ASRock and keep making gaming affordable for the guys who can't afford an expensive board!
iam going to buy a another mother board but when i saw one motherboard make 2things happen (like it supporte dd2 and dd3) then why i should go for another one.
I'm about to order the ASRock P45R2000-wifi. It has 4 slots of ddr3 and 2 slots of ddr2! I'm going with nice set of ddr3's. Can't wait to build my rig. ASROCK wink wink
Thats not really a success for e8500 that ususally goes to 4GHz with just a slight voltage up :) My e8200 is @4ghz@500fsb (2000fsb effective) on DFI P45 t2rs+ :P
PCI-E x16 (version 1) is plenty for a "single" GPU card. The 9800GX2 has two GPU's, so it will need 2.0, but "ANY" card out right now that only uses one GPU will not need 2.0, it won't be able to fill the bandwidth offered by PCI-E x16 Version 1 by a long shot. PCI-E 2.0 as of now, is a marketing hype just like SATA 2 (aka SATA300)
well ssd's speeds are going to catch up to use all the sata2 because there are already talks about 250MB/s ssd drives and soon ssd will reach up to 375MB/s
yes, sata2 has been out for a little bit, and even now those drives are mainly pushed at computer enthusiasts since they aren't very big at the moment and very expensive compared to HDD's. A SSD around 100GB is around $400.
I cant find my ass with both hands.

Thats not really a success for e8500 that ususally goes to 4GHz with just a slight voltage up :) My e8200 is @4ghz @500fsb (2000fsb effective) on DFI P45 t2rs+ :P

When you test Asrock Penryn1600SLIX3 mobo against another 680i-based mobo in 3-way sli?
I like to see the results :)

This video is mis-leading...
PCI-E 2.0 as of now, is a marketing hype just like SATA 2 (aka SATA300)

exactly!!

well ssd's speeds are going to catch up to use all the sata2 because there are already talks about 250MB/s ssd drives and soon ssd will reach up to 375MB/s

yes, sata2 has been out for a little bit, and even now those drives are mainly pushed at computer enthusiasts since they aren't very big at the moment and very expensive compared to HDD's. A SSD around 100GB is around $400.
