  • you know smappleMcwingers , i didn't come here to see a setzer lesson , i'm interested in rockabilly style , and if setzer is rockabilly , rockabilly isn't setzer , as far as i can see , this is a good rockabilly lesson

  • Setzer was a huge factor in reviving interest in rockabilly. Rockabilly is no one artist, but he epitomises the "new" rockabilly ie not Johnny Burnette, Scotty Moore. You might like Redd Volkaert and Western Swing style, too, if you like this.

  • If you want to see actual Setzer lessons, just youtube Setzer lessons. What makes his playing so special is his dexterity and, musically, his scale switching. You stay in the same scale and then, when it goes to the 4, you move up to the 8th fret box, which I have NEVER seen Setzer do. IF he moves up the fret board, he's changing scales.

  • this guy rocks ! this is a good lesson ,but isn't the full course a bit expensive ?

  • Hey TnTKid54, thanks for the comment! Lucky for you, Jump Blues will be going on sale today at some point for 50% off. We'll send you a direct message with the link.
