  • Rumpelstilzchen :D

Also ich habe fast alles verstanden :) Das war wirklich gut :)

Es ist echt gemein dass andere meinen dass es schrecklich ist obwohl sie selbst nicht deutsch sprechen können...Dann weiß man doch auch gar nicht wie deutsch gesprochen wird...

    Jedenfalls war es gut :)

  • I'm German. And it's ok. Learn more and you'll get better.

  • I don't even speak German and I know that was horrible.

  • Der Akzent is irgendwie seltsam ,weil manche versuchen ja irgend so einHoch deutsch, aber dein Akzent is eigentlich ganz ok :)

  • I'm 14, I'm almost full-blooded and I do speak if. And I think it was ganz gut!

  • Aber es gelingt ihm besser als anderen Amerikanern, die Erdnussbuttersocke zu vermeiden

  • das ist ganz gut !!

  • I think your accent actually makes german sound cooler :D

and i understood everything even though some words are pronounced very english e.g. "Gold"

  • i think it's not that bad, don't listen to the mean comments! i know it's really hard to learn so just keep working on it.. i understood everything :)

  • you sound american when you speak german lol..

  • your dumb

  • 2 oder 3

  • Von 1-10 ähhhh 1

  • And a fake biker homo

  • Nice! It's not really German pronunciation, but it has some charm ... :D

Probably better than my English pronunciation ...

    "Rumplestiltskin" :D

Have you learned German by this book? Have you learned German at all?

And don't mind the law and order people here (obviously Gemans ...), your room is okay for an internet nerd. My room looks even worse ...

    :-(

  • OK, why don't you read something in German so we can find out what your accent is like?? hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha

  • 3 out of ten. Keep practicing!

  • Jetzt denke ich mir gerade: mein armer Englisch-Lehrer! xD

  • ich finde es nicht so gut aber deutsch ist ja auch nicht einfach :)

  • 1. räum mal dein zimmer auf. 2. arbeite an der aussprache und 3. räum dein zimmer auf xDD

  • Ich würde dir eine 7.5 von 10 geben. xD

  • accent's not very good, but i understand what you're saying.

  • wow, er ist ein messi :D

  • ich finds immer niedlich wenn die amis deutsch lernen und dann so märchenbücher lesen müssen ^^

your accent is quite strong yet, but thats naturally, i'll give you 5/10 :)

  • not too bad, i it's an old fairytale, "Rumpelstilzchen" =)

  • good!

  • i'd give a six.

  • Well, the accent is like 6 or 7 of 10 BUT I can understand most of what you said and that's the important thing. Keep up the good work ;)

  • Its understandable. But your Accent is not the best.

    Ceep on learning ^_°

  • klingt ganz gut , man kann einigermaßen verstehen was du sagst ^^

  • 4 of 10

  • You need to work on it.

  • Ich verstehe es nicht

  • make a stronger "r". for a not native speaker its a 5

  • Ziemlich gut, aber Sie werden mehr Selbstvertrauen brauchen = Pretty good but you need to be more confident. 5

  • besser als die meisten ammis ^^

  • 6. ;)

  • WTF DID YOU SAY?! I wanna learn german -.- but I can say thats like a 5 :P

  • 5-6

  • 6 ;)

  • @MrDaracul hoarder

  • Mein Kampf.

  • @krayolaLive

    dein krampf

  • it's not too bad mate. u mastered the ch sound which is something most native english speakers have a problem with. u just need to learn to pause at the right time and maybe improve yr pronunciation a bit but other than that it was pretty good! for how long have u been studying before u recorded that video?

  • Rumpelstielzchen :D Als echter Kenner weiß man das beim ersten Satz :D

  • sieben

  • ich es wie eine sechs geben

  • Fuenf.

  • Welches Buch lesen Sie

  • cute ;D

  • Eh?

  • Your accent is fine. Your hoarding disorder... Thats another story mein friend...

  • Too high of pitch, and you read your words of the page too much. Don't think about what you say, just say it. Say it like you would say in English.

  • i like it

  • Your facial hair is epic.

  • hallo! gut!

achte noch auf deine aussprache, vor allem beim "r" und "ch", das klingt noch etwas merkwürdig, aber ganz normal bei amerikanern!

    viel glück weiterhin!

  • I barely understand what you're saying :D but whatever,..keep practising!!

  • haha so cute !! :D love it !!! echt süss gelesen !! immer schön weiter üben!

  • not bad, go on! ;) 6

  • Man hört extrem heraus, dass du Amerikaner bist.

Trotzdem nicht schlecht, man hat alles verstanden.

  • i love it

  • I'm German and I'm roaring with laughter because it's so funny :D

  • 5-7

  • sound like english terrible

  • im from germany its very good but on some words u still say them false but its very very good sorry for my grammer

  • dein "ch" klingt eig ziemlich gut ;D

  • thats cuuute! =‚D Do u even know what u’re talking about? ahaha. thats hilarious. That was my favourite fary tail when I was little ;D

  • about a 7 :)

  • sounds like an english version of microsoft sam thats talking in german

  • It's pretty good dude, but I think you shouldn't try so hard. Just relax and let it flow

  • A bit too proper, be a bit lazy saying each word.

  • sehr amüsant dass als deutscher zu hören :D

  • I'd say its okay, but you can still improve a lot. Just a few hints:

    - "r" - as already mentioned by others

    - "ch" - sometimes it's correct like in "noch", sometimes it sounds wrong like in "nicht" (these are actually two distinct sounds [x] and i think [ç] )

    - vowels are pronounced short before a double consonant (you did it right on "muss" several times but wrong on "Schloss" and others)

    - "gold" - sounds strange too

but all in all it's understandable and not too bad

  • Das "r" hört sich englisch an. Und Wörter mit "o" ziehst du in die Länge, das "o" muss kürzer sein z.b. Sonne. Ich frage mich immer, warum jmd. überhaupt freiwillig deutsch lernt...ist sehr schwer.

  • IM GERMAN; AND I CAN UNDERSTAND IT!!!! not bad!

  • Its cute how you pronounce "Gold". ^^ But when you said "Guten Abend" at 1:57, that was pretty good. ;)

  • your german is pretty good! everybody would understand you in germany

  • hey didnt i give you 5 euros yesterday on frieburg strasse you were out the rest of your turkisch family . turkish germanys mexicans

  • Ich sehe ein Logitech X3D im Hintergrund :D

  • Hm... I'll rate you 6 out of 10. For german is indeed a language to drive one to dispair. Even for native speakers. :-) I watched the whole 9:58 because of the nice story. Keep on going!

  • @wuslon70 haha cool ^^

  • nice mustach!

  • 5 :)

  • german with english accent ^-^

  • On a scale (1 = very bad and 10 = very good) I'd give you a 4, because your ch sounds too harsh and your pronunciation isn't too good.

    For example: "intelligente Tochter"

You pronounce "intelligente" like intelligent. But there's a difference! Intelligent has it's accent on -tel-, but the German intelligent has it on -gent. Your tact sounds not very fluently.

  • fuggin mongolians

  • u look like shaggy from scooby doo :D

  • I couldn't understand some words, but all in all it wasn't bad.

Give you 6 points as well =]

But yeah, you needed to shave XD

  • Jude! Ruden Sie die Hunde! jk >.>

  • jetz fahren zu arbeiten xD ich lache mein arsch ab

  • goddamit i hate the german laungage ... too hard

  • @100yungD100 yah im trying to learn it but looks inposible

  • @100yungD100 Try Chinese LOL!!!! :P

  • Don't let your "ch" sound too harsh. Let it come out more smooth.

  • good job pronouncing the words and stuff but the accent I would give a 3..

  • es ist gut aber es kan noch besser gehen

  • sie need to practice on deutsch aksent, i not gut wit englisch

  • @Scylla94941 Natürlich kann im Deutschen auch das R gerollt werden, z.B. im fränkischen Raum. Prominentestes Beispiel ist Lothar Matthäus ;-)

  • i never saw something as shitty, retarded, ugly, ungodly and unawsomely as this piece of fuck. and i have seen 2 girls 1 cup

  • hä..? rumpelstielschen ist doch kein mädchen..?? x'D haha

w.e. you'd try to say "würzburg" lmfao. :))

  • Dude, anyone ever tell you that you look like Chiba from BECK?

  • I just wonder how you pronounce "Rumpelstilzchen" almost perfectly !!!

  • e + i together give an i-noise, so our "mein" sounds like your "mine" which even means the same!

  • damn that room is a mess :D

  • NAI NAI NAI NAI NAI NA!!!

  • sehr gut!

  • hey man

    thats really good!

your german accent is much better than that from some tuerky.germans wich live in germany

  • ....i don't know what to say... take it as a compliment or insult....

  • üben üben ÜBEN !!

    aber eine witzige idee !

  • Did you understand, what you read?? Your accent is not sooo bad, but I don't think that you understand the text

  • It's ok, but I can tell you have not been surrounded by it. If you have the chance, spend a year in Germany. You'll get it pretty quickly.

  • fuck u

  • @menglinhai

Danke!sein Akzent ist genau so "lustig" wie meiner wenn ich versuche englisch zu sprechen :) ansonsten würde ich sagen das er es insgesamt gar nicht so schlecht gemacht hat! 7 Punkte!!!

  • why are so many people learning german :D

i love languages, but i think spanish and english and ... whatever are more beautiful than german :D

ps it is :müller not mühler... that means you have to say it more fastly.... a short ü :D

  • @TheMekMeky fastly isnt a word btw

  • i always thought only germans could have a german accent...you'd be having an american accent, correct me if i'm wrong...und immer üben üben üben

  • TIME TO PUT ZEE EAYAGOGGLES ON! Brauchen mehr Praxis! Ihr zimmer ist sehr schmutzig!

  • pretty good =)

ok one litte hint from me: 4 ex. lets take the word: Müller

the pronounciation is not on the "ü" but on the double *ll*. try to pronounce the "ü" short and the *ll* longer. make it sound like starting a sportscar engine when you step on the gas.

have fun improving - you´r doing great

    greetings from germany

  • I would agree to albedoshader

Otherwise, your German is quite good. Pay attention to pronouncing the 'r', you pronounce it in the back of your throat, like most native English speakers do, rather than thrilling the back of your tongue, like native German speakers do. Then, of course, stress. The best way to learn that would be to talk German. Otherwise, watch some German television (really, it's not all that bad <_<) paying attention to how the words are pronounced. But so far, I'd give you 6/10

  • change title of video to "how good is my german" then it'll be more relevant to what you're actually doing.

1/10 - 1 because youre speaking german, -9 because you're usng your own accent as opposed to a german one.

  • Wrong use of "accent" again.

You have a German accent when you speak e.g. English like a German would speak it. An accent is using articulation or pronunciation that's alien to the way the language ought to be spoken.

A dialect is the same but applies to local variations of the standard language.

You're speaking German with an "American" accent.

I have a German accent if I speak English.

You want to know how your German pronunciation or articulation is.

  • Your German is actually completely well however I find you should practise at your accent . It always said German is a heavy language however it is very simple.

  • es ist ok. nicht berauschend. aber ganz gut. eigentlich sehr verständlich. (wollt schon auf englisch antworten aber dann würdest du denken ich fands total schlimm)

  • i do not know but its really wierd how US-Americans speak german. Its so englisy.. try to put your original accent on the side..

not a comment, but i think its difficult for you guys to put certain stress on the words.

but i would say a very good effort. keep practicing.

    Also viel Glück beim Lernen!

  • how long did you learned it.. cause I think you done a pretty good job! I would give you a 9,5 ^-^ cause the pronouncing isn´t that good but that´s the hard thing at the german language ^-^

  • man man, dein zimmer sieht ja ma übel aus

    LOL sounds funny :)

  • However, you speak good in German one hears you ordinarily English or American speaks. However, I find this, actually quite feels well. I am from Germany.

  • you suck

  • LOL WTF I ROFLED hahahahahahahaha omg

  • Was für ein schieß text .-.- Aber mehr Übung dann wird es besser !

  • As a german I have to say, you've done your job well, but you still have an english accent ;)

  • where do you live?

  • sweet :D I can understand it

  • naja, es geht :/

  • cute :D

  • you sound kinda like a english languagebot speaking german

pronounciation and you talk a bit jagged i dont know how to describe

  • rumpelstilzchen......^^

your accent is pretty well but....work on it.....my suggestion is to learn the words first, then the grammar,........(that's how i learned english)

    5 of 10

  • u look like a nerd (not an insult i am one :P) but yeeeaaaahh... pretty good, helped me a bit :D

  • id give ya a three, its not even an accent its just u reading out of the book

  • It is Very hard to focus on your accent and read a foreign language at the same time... Very hard.

I think you did a very good job...

From one English speaker to another.

lol Someone got offline on AIM when you bit your tongue XD ((random notice))

  • I'm a German and I say not bad! You do still sound like an American but not terrible. Practice the ä,ö and ü. Also practice rolling the "r". Do not use your tongue though. the German R roll comes from the back of your throat. Keep working you are doing well. I give it a 6.

  • @GunterGeschichte505 Germans dont "roll" any letter. We're not Russians.

  • @GunterGeschichte505 is the r in german similar to the french throaty r?

  • dass ist gut!! :D

  • ich hatte schon welche in der klasse (Berufsschule) die haben sehr viel schlechter gesprochen ehrlich, du machst das schon ganz gut

  • 10 HAHAHA

  • at the most .. uhh 7,5 :D

but your german is way better than my english

practise a bit more your pronunciation & rhythm

aber hättste ma net n anneres märchen aussuchen können? die auswahl war durchaus unvorteilhaft xD

  • I´m From Germany , an I give ...... mabye a 6, u got some problems with the ü,ä,ö but you are not alone with this Problem^^

  • your german is very easy to understand. good so far. but you have to visit germany for once and talk to the natives alot to really get the sound.

  • 4.5

  • I'd give it a 6.

You pause a bit. If you'll notice, Germans speaking German, their words and language flow very much.

Work on the smooth flow :)

  • very nice story your reading there. :) i think i'll give you 6/10 because of your very good pronouncing of the 'ch'.

  • Man it's easy to read German and pronouncing it. YOu need to actually speak it using your mind and no book.

  • I can't believe you actually pronounced the word "geht's" correctly. Thank you! Danke schon. You are the first person who can pronounce German right besides one of my friends.

  • 5/10

  • Your German can be understood quite well, but your accent is clearly still very far from German. Keep it up!

  • there is a book called "how are you?" omg hahaaa

  • Clean your room.

  • @itsallboutme22 its called. (Clean up your room) ;) Im a German too.

  • ich lach mich kaputt:D

ps: wo lebst du??:D ganz schön zugemüllt dein zimmer!!xD

  • so cute :}
