  • If you wanna find an ancient civilization that was more technologically advanced, look for communications infrastructure of some kind. Data must proliferate in order for technology to advance. You'd need a communication system that can facilitate more experimentation on new ideas so technology can develop. You should also pay attention to food sources. You need to feed so many inventors. These would necessarily be widespread enough that evidence is likely to be found.

  • @Ishpeck To long and hard for brain to prosese

  • The Brain surgery is in Peru - The Incas not Mesoamerica...

  • @manpaisa92 The aztecs performed brain surgery on people often leaving a giant hole where the surgery took place, the patient would have survived with the hole

  • Plato's stories of atlantis were just that. It like saying Zeus once walked amoung us because romans and greeks told stories about him :/

Still, you blew my mind. Great thoughts there.

  • finding atlantis would be easy, we just have to sink into the ocean.

  • @ssawertt Or do we need to sink the ocean?

  • @SuperRiguy to sink the ocean would be to put a new layer of water on top of it. i imagine that would be harder.

  • @RyMA1990 D: hit the wrong button :D I like him too <3

  • Plato was using Atlantis as a metaphor.

  • Hmmm......how do we know that we didnt invent timetravel on the future and went back and created an advanced civilisation but didnt leave any tracks so we dont change the future............

    (lol)

  • Plato didn't screw around, bitch. Believe that shit.

  • Technology is natural. Is a beaver's dam unnatural? Is a bird's nest? So, why are human tools and artifices (created by a naturally-occurring species) considered "unnatural"? Everything is natural. Plastic is natural. Bug spray is natural. Fruit Roll-Ups are natural. The "unnatural" argument defeats itself the moment it is used. Did man create gasoline out of thin air? Did we summon nuclear power from some otherworldly source? No. Every last bit of it came from naturally-occuring phenomena.

  • @theyoungmrt Your argument has a failing. Plastic is made from natural things wich we blend which is technicallyunnatural cos they were never ment to be blended

  • @holt0025 How were they "not ment" to be blended? Who decided that? God? You? Back to the beaver's nest argument: it is unnatural? Or did God decide that twigs and mud and rocks were meant to be blended for the purpose of making beaver's dams? Is it only "unnatural" if a human makes it? Or is there some other (probably arbitrary) method to determine its "naturalness"? My argument has no failing. Your brain does. Also, learn to spell before you try to match wits with me, retard-face.

  • @theyoungmrt First of all ,I have only one or two misspellings and that's because I rush when I write , so don't insult people for no reason other than to make yourself feel better.

Second , I think something is "unnatural" when it wasn't made that way by nature itself. Plastic is a compound and is therefore made of several things which , when they were created, weren't created together but they were mixed together by humans. If God had meant them to be mixed , then plastic would occur (cont)

  • @holt0025 I don't believe in god.....> -__-

  • on its own like Gold and other minerals . Beaver Dams are not created by nature but rather by something nature made. If all technology were natural then why wasn't it created fully made? Why cant we dig and find telephones ready made? You cant say that because something is made from natural materials , then it has to be natural.

Also don't be a Grammar Nazi because you might have been proven wrong.

  • Instead of going to school, I'll just watch this guys videos!

  • interestng...i never thought of it like that before. like that one library in alexandria or something? that got burned down? yeah apparently we're still today (re)learning stuff that was in there...

  • bio degradible cell phone cases

  • uh he tottally did

  • UH! HE TOTALLY DID! O.O

    hahahha

  • arent we nature as well?

  • I buy the comic books idea more than reality. Its VERY difficult to totally erase a civilization in its entirety.

  • @Horathgar42 no its very difficult for us to totally erase a civilization. the point of this was to ask the question maybe we are still cavemen in comparison to wut could be, wut couldve been, wut couldnt it have been, wut mite it have been, or if it was even there to begin w/. all that good stuff xD

  • @djmike321star Nah I know its a possibility. Albeit its a near zero possibility, and it remains nigh impossible to entirely erase all signs or evidence of a far reaching even slightly advanced civilization existed, unless of course it never allowed any small trinket out of their gates and then vaporized itself it would have spread irrevocably to be found later.

  • Haha, if people found these videos, they would have to understand sarcasm.

  • If you've played LoZ Twillight Princess, there is an amazing form of technology, but it runs on magic. Not chi, magic.

  • If all teachers were like you...... damn, how intelligent we would become :D

  • Stargate Reference!

  • pause at @2:30 x)

  • 1:46 - 1:57 HOLY SHIT!!!

  • 2:29

  • Your peace rule should watch the film Mars Attacks.

  • 2:00 aha moment for me.

    Explains SOO much.

  • Ancient Egyptians had aerodynamic model gliders that really flew Too bad they only used them as toys. At least we thinks that's all they were used for. Maybe they were controlled by some biodegradable circuits that turned them into a delivery service and were used to pass messages for the king... or maybe not.

  • Very interesting.

  • LOL I thought I've watched every episodes but this one has eluded me somehow xD

  • Ancient Rome (or Greece, I don't remember) had eye surgery.

  • Proto-humans!! Go Assassin's Creed and Fringe!!!

  • actually the more technologically advanced we become the more peaceful we DO become. 500 years ago everyone was at war with everyone. today we couldn't even imagine two large countries truly going at it for total defeat or domination. the more powerful and horrifying our weapons get the less likely we are to start using them in fear of our enemies using them back. i mean the nuke has saved more lives then it has every taken.

  • @WhatYouOughtToKnow

How is you background so white?

  • lol...2:30

  • How about the loss of crafting Wootz steel? Just another thing we can't replicate anymore.

  • @PurpleUkeleleguy

Surely you know that it's Plato and not Playto, right ?

  • there is an ancient mechanical calculator they just found recently that is advanced as 1800's machines,

    and it's 10,000 years old....

  • @MetalShreader that's nice and everything. but i believe that our current tech knowledge comes from our ability to hold on and pass on knowledge. a calculator 10000 years ago might have been an awesome and very advanced tech. but without the ability to preserve that knowledge to create it in say libraries and networks of info it was lost very fast. give or take a few hundred generations.

  • @gibblets17 yeah, I'm just saying it's weird how we have documentation on lots of things like history and leaders, but not these things.. spooky O.o

  • Try googling Vimanas, 8000 year old space ships written about in Ramayana, but if texts dont do it for you and hard evidence does, try googling Antikythera mechanism and the Parthian Battery.

  • Sometimes I think about those ancient libraries that were destroyed by religious fanatics in antiquity. The library in Alexandria was destroyed. Maybe it had all the answers to these topics? Maybe the mystery of the pyramid, .ancient mathematics, and Atlantis were hidden in the library. Its depressing cause we still have book burners too today.

  • @Namaste4Me as some historians have said that if the great library of alexandia would have survived we would be in mars by now.

but no, thanks to christianity and islam...

  • Look up the Piri Reis map. It's a map that was made in the 16th century that shows land masses that weren't discovered until hundreds of years later. The map it's self was copied off other maps and some of them were believed to be from the fourth century BC and/or older. Really does make you wonder . . .

  • HUMANS HUMANS!!!!!!!

  • For a moment there I thought you said "Playdough" not "Playto" - it did seem suspicious that a gooey toy company told stories of an ancient mythical culture...

  • This was a really interesting head scratcher. Modern humans have been around for 200.000 years and the human race (in any form) for twenty to forty times as long. Then consider that the earth is about thousand times as old as that. Is an advanced civilization that left no archaeological evidence behind possible? There is plenty chronological room for it at the very least.

  • @WhatYouOughtToKnow No offense to you though. I love your videos, I just strongly disagree that we are everything. Looking at the facts, we are even much smaller than atoms compared to the size of the universe! Maybe even MUCH SMALLER THAN THAT!!! Seriously. Nature is the reason EVERYTHING that exists, exists! That's why I don't believe in "God". I just got frustrated to hear about what you talked about in this video about us being superior over nature. That is a lie.

  • @2winitall

Are u fawkin 10 or something? He was beeing sarcastic. Sarcasm!!! LOOK IT UP!!!

  • @dyablohunter It never said anywhere in the video description or anything that he was being sarcastic. And it's hard to tell if someone's serious or sarcastic just by their actions. He must give evidence in the description or whatever that he was being sarcastic in order for me to know that. And no, I'm 19. So, how do YOU, Mr. Judgemental, know he was being sarcastic? What evidence from the video do you have that proves that he was sarcastic?

  • @2winitall

No offence but, You really suck at people skills. Are you from the North Pole? Have you been living under a rock for the last 19 years?

If you read the tags you can see funny and comedy there. Sarcasm is usually used to make something funny. Even scientists that talk about serious issues can make jokes by using sarcasm. We are humans not robots. Grow up, drink some beer, get laid, get a life and stop posting stupid comments on youtube.

  • @dyablohunter AGAIN, here you are being judgemental, and THAT is the "stupid" thing to do! I know what sarcasm means, and the Winn brothers' MAIN purpose for their videos is to let us know stuff for REAL! Just look at the screen name! Sure they put humor into it too, but nothing proves whether his main purpose in this specific video was being sarcastic. YOU'RE the one who's acting like just another of those pathetic, immature YouTubers I encounter, so YOU need to get a life!

  • @2winitall Obvious troll is obvious. I commend you sir.

If you are in fact being serious, it IS a joke. You don't need any "description/clue" to know he was making a joke. Are you stupid? You DO suck at people skills. God, stop being so serious.

  • @signnet2 What the devil do you mean by "troll is obvious"? "Am I stupid"? Uh, YOU'RE the one who appears to be acting "stupid." Yes, you DO need a clue stating you were joking. Some people can't tell if someone's serious or not just by looking at his/her actions. It was so obvious in his 2012 video. I feel sorry for all of you who post those kind of comments. That proves YOU "suck at people skills."

  • @2winitall Your funny man. I almost feel like feeding you.

  • @2winitall if you cant tell that he was being sarcastic about the whole, "we have defeated nature" part your just socially handicapped :/

  • @MasterOfFlash92 Wow, another one acting foolish. WhatYouOughtToKnow clearly stated he's for the TRUTH in his videos, and he did not say anywhere in this video or the description that it was a joke.

  • @2winitall Oh, and one other thing, if you watch any one of his (currently) 276 videos, you'd be EXTREMELY hard-pressed to find more than two or three that don't in any way include humor or sarcasm. For instance, watch his "Things We Say Wrong" video if you haven't. Everything his says is true except for his humorous moments which usually involve a random camera shift to a different angle (like this one? SHOCKER!)

  • Fucking douche bag, nature created us! If it weren't for nature, us "winner humans" would never be here! We are NOT superior over nature! Nature does NOT mean just "trees in nowhere" and "wild animals." It means how stuff comes out as it is! There is no fucking "God" either! And this technology "we create" will go only as far as whatever is truely possible by the means of nature! We are NOT the ones who prove what's possible, and those of you who say we are, are such idiodic douche bags!

  • @2winitall half of what u said doesn't make sense and useing ur fowl lang. doesn't make u any more right

  • @TheBuffalo3001 Actually, it does make sense. I don't know how you think it doesn't! Nature DOES mean how stuff comes out as it is, and all people who believes we're "everything" and there's this "God" who created everything the way it is, are wrong! And as for the "foul language," this is YouTube, and users type these words on here all the time. You need to take another look around, my friend. I only used the term "douche bag" because I think it's funny anyway.

  • @2winitall You're talking objectively on subjectivity. No, it didn't actually make sense, do you know why? Because your comment is completely irrelevant. He never actually said that we were superior to nature, so what are you even saying? You're just expressing your ideologies for the sake of opinion. Just because people use foul language on youtube, doesn't mean you have to; there are many stronger un-profane words that can be used as expression. It just shows that you're a shallow person.

  • @ClaytonOrgles Okay, now YOU'RE not making sense. People can use foul language for comedy sometimes, so either that's the reason when I use it, or when I'm truely angry. Enough people on YouTube use it to where it's obviously appropriate on here. I've now cooled down a little on cursing anyways. I may have different opinions, but that doesn't make me shallow. My comment WAS relevant, because it was still on the "humans vs. nature" subject he was on. He DID say humans beat nature, watch it again!

  • @2winitall Perhaps inappropriate comedy. Being angry is no excuse; swearing indicates you can't control yourself properly. Either that or you're trying too hard to be noticed. As mentioned previously, just because other people do it, doesn't mean you should. If it were colloquial to commit to self-harm, would you do it to be normal? I said you were shallow for your use of profane language, not because of your opinion. He was being sarcastic when mentioned nature vs humans in the video.

  • @ClaytonOrgles Yes, swearing in general can make people look low-class, but you got to understand that other people may feel different about those words, and on SOME things those words CAN be appropriate. It looks to me that you just don't understand the reasons. SO WHAT if I ran into just a couple of people who don't like it, because lots of others don't even care. So no, you're not convincing me to change. I didn't even mean it anyway, and there was no evidence that he was being sarcastic.

  • @2winitall I'm sorry, but if you require ACTUAL evidence that he was being sarcastic, you need to go elsewhere. I don't know about you, but usually when I make sarcastic statements, I don't follow it up with "I was just being sarcastic there." Please, flame elsewhere until you grasp more fully the English language.

  • @mangyangghos I really didn't mean to flame. I actually like this show. I would like to start over on posting my first comment. But the point is that it did NOT look to me like he was being sarcastic AT ALL. I don't even understand how you guys are coming up with that he was. He was going off about how humans "become more peaceful as technology advances" or whatever, so I assumed he WASN'T being sarcastic. All I know is humans are NOT superior to nature, and that's what I meant to say.

  • why can't our teachers teach like this? (not including ''HUMANS HUMANS HUMANS etc''.. that's just .. weird) Because teachers are often.. BORING!

  • Humans! Humans! Humans! We have trashed this place!! nature sucks! xD XD

  • @RyMA1990 me, too!

  • HUMANS HUMANS HUMANS!!!

  • thats an intresting idea, but it seems also the more advanced a civilation becomes, the more records it keeps. if there really was a super advanced civilazation before us, surley they would have saved some records as we do now, in time capsuals(sp?).and if they were very advanced a doubt an astroid would pose a threat.

  • @flight454

There are records, the fact that you never heard about this fact is not something you should be surprised of. Think about it dumbass.

  • @dyablohunter any advanced civilazation would have to be curious, and this curiosity leads us to want others to know about us. we have sent space craft into deep space with engraving of us, im sure you know about it. We also want other people here to know about us. its common place to bury a time capsule with a newspaper or somthing similar in it. so were are the time capsules? any advanced civilazation would have made at least one.

  • @flight454

So let's assume that there were adv. civilizations and left behind time capsules and other stuff like that. What makes you think we should've found it by now? Do you realize how big this planet is? That's one way to look at it, the other is that ppl have found things like that throughout the years but the boogeyman elites who control us sheeple didn't want us to know about it, so they took it, and made up a cover story. They don't want to share knowledge like this with us. You know.

  • aleins had to help the anceint cilivizations !!! LOL

  • This solve it. Atlantis must of been biodegradable.

  • Intriguing to think about. We will probably never know for sure.

  • yes! you totally need to make a time capsul!

  • Yes, we define that rule about the more advanced a civilization is, the more peaceful. Ha!

  • 2:30 haha

  • he's so handsome ;p

  • @whyRaay hell ya he is! hes mine lol

  • Yet another amazing 3 minutes and 17 seconds!!! I love WYOTK!!! It's funny and educational at the same time!!!

  • @csigirl555 i totally agree with that!

  • @csigirl555 18 seconds*

  • Mmmm.....lurning.....

  • Resource based system

No Money+high technology=Freedom and enlightment with nature, Purity, Peace, Harmony.

Humans dont born greedy, nether selfish or arrogant. Its condiotioned by the environment, just like bigotry behavior.

In other hand love, empathy, altrouism are innate human capacities, insticts.

    (psycology)

  • Well, humans are actualy born greedy. If we wernt we would have died out (probably)

The argument that humans are all born greedy is basicly like this. If you could have something for nothing versus having the same thing for a resonable price which option would you choose?

So if you were a primitive man and you had to choose between taking the apple off the tree for free (living) or not picking the apple (dying) you could say that you were greedy. You have to be in order to survive.

  • I don't think that's true. We observe in children that, naturally, they are selfish. As parents it is our duty to raise them right and teach them to work within a community.

Additionally, it is not our instincts that appear to influence us to do anything outside of our immediate personal benefit, but rather something beneath that, a deeper awareness of how we SHOULD behave, that seems to go against our instincts... and it's not due to social conditioning.

  • True.Thumbs up for that!

  • god - you're so handsome :)

  • The BBC (The UK'smost neutral and Government 'owned' news station) did an independent study which found that there is little to no different between 500 ml (3 cups) and 2l (10 cups) of water a day.

  • lol this is awesome

  • the absence of evidance dose not mean the evidance of absence hahahaha

  • Yeah the last part is good idea. Just how are they going to watch it????

  • The last part was a kicker.

  • ...you should look into the mayan civilization, they were astronomers and mathematicians (the pyramids were only tools to them, not the focus of their efforts)...

...they mysteriously disappeared a couple of centuries BEFORE the spanish colonizers arrived, and yet archaeologists have not found evidence of where they went or why they ceased to BE...

look into it, its something YOU ought to know...

  • They didn't mysteriously disappear. They changed and were ahh whats the word for it. "Culturally engulfed" I'll say, by other pre-columbian civilizations. They also wiped themselves out. No mystery.

  • ...ah yes, the euro-centric textbook version of history and its eager disciples who follow unquestioningly...

...now, there is much of value in the work of western archaeologist, but like any human being who has ever studied the past, the conclusions reached are an interpretation of what is found...

..."culturally engulfed" is improbable, like saying the greeks were culturally engulfed by the romans...

  • That's right. There are two english speaking locations in the world. The USA and Europe.

And books, those are tools of THE NEW WORLD ORDER designed to annihilate us all, YOU MUST NOT BELIEVE THEM.

I "appreciate" your condescending attitude, so I hope you won't mind mine.

  • lol

...i always appreciate a little pseudo-intellectual skirmish (i use the term because i don't consider myself and intellectual...a perpetual seeker maybe), the attitude is to spice the debate up!!!

    ps

...its not books that i criticize, its which ones are selected to instruct...

    be well and inlakech...

  • ...thanx for replying, if you're interested i suggest finding more resources, compare and question (a vacation down there would be nice too, being there ads its own nuances...and the beaches are beautiful) and in the end never settle for the intellectual fodder that is fed in textbooks...

    ...be well...

  • great episode! :D

    *hihi for millions of years

I just saw a documentary on how difficult it is to preserve information, on paper or electronic etc and the attempts in a german library to scan all information all books and so forth

    nothing lasts forever

  • For their sake, you have to.

They need to know how that next Romantic Comedy will end.

    Again.

  • very good video. i think that was an awesome observation that if a past culture was truely green, we might not see their technology. ive never heard that before, but it makes good sense.

  • make a video on GTA!

  • What is GTA?

  • I think he means Grand Theft Auto, but what he seems to misunderstand is these videos are usually about something useful.

  • yea but what you ougt to know in the future will be useless and will become what was needed to be known
