  • I really enjoyed this video. I think you play your instrument very well.

  • Dude you're a machine! But you still got grooves like a motherfucker, so now my head exploded cause paradox...

  • Groovy ;)

  • Hey guys/girls, calm down. It doesn't matter what you use, it's only important how it sounds in the end. How you get there is irrelevant. If you use triggers, fine. If you don't, also fine. What difference does it make how hard it is to play something if the end result doesn't sound good?

  • At the end the look on his face is like...Yeah, im the shit lol

  • Hannes your the fucking man!

  • jack daniel's!

  • Kit sounds amazing. Great playing mate :)

  • How did you make your bass drum sound like that! I really hope its not a trigger.

  • @ProGamersDK What is wrong with triggers?

  • @progdrummermark It is my opinion that if you can not get a consistent sound on your bass drums, then instead of putting triggers on, you should practice more.

  • @ProGamersDK But triggers are only used for clarity for the more up-to-speed players out there. But you are entitled to your opinion. Cheers!

  • @ProGamersDK

Of course it is! If not, the drum bass track is sampled. You can hear it. But there's nothing wrong with that.

  • @ProGamersDK shut up with the trigger remarks you fuckin dumb cuntface troll / retard

  • @Level80irl Just because I express an opinion that you don't share, does not mean that I am a troll or a mentally handicapped person. Grow up.

  • @ProGamersDK has nothing to do with opinion if it is incorrect, grow up go back to school

  • @Level80irl You tell me to grow up when you are the person you called me a "fuckin dumb cuntface troll / retard". Why are you so angry because of my opinion of triggers? And yes, it is an opinion. It is my opinion that is takes more skill to not use triggers and there are many more different types of sounds to a bass drum. If you trigger it it gets the same sound every time even if you hit it soft or hard. I am not putting down Hannes because he defiantly can play without. But many players cant.

  • @ProGamersDK HOLY FUCKIN PARAGRAPH BATMAN

  • @Level80irl I KNOW RIGHT! off topic: Has Robin EVER in his entire life done ANYTHING useful, or has he just gotten himself in trouble a billion times, so batman had to do all the work? Why would batman have such an idiot as his sidekick?

  • @ProGamersDK hate to butt in, but you can get dynamics while using triggers. just sayin'..

  • @ProGamersDK yes please enlighten us as to what is wrong with triggers?

  • @dethmetalderique It is just my opinion that a trigger is sort of crutch for a lot of players because they are unable to get a consistent sound on the bass drum(s). Obviously Hannes is not of them, but I just think that an untriggered bass drum has a lot more different sounds and accents. Anyone can just put a trigger on a drum and make it sound good every time you hit it.

  • @ProGamersDK i'm ppretty sure i read in an interview or something somehwere that hannes didn't use triggers on most of the omnivium recording. and i know as a fact that it is VERY hard to get a consistent sound when drumming at >250BPM. it's just not something you can concern yourself with, with all the other things usually going on in a death metal song.

  • Charlie did a great job but you sir are amazing!

  • Incredible. No words can describe how smooth this is

  • Fucking amazingness.

  • Awesome stuff!

Technical question: How was this recorded? I see no mics, but the quality is great.

  • @EskilNaige I guess Hannes used some Overhead mics and mics for his bassdrum

  • @CorpsesUnderIce This is my guess too because toms and snare sound like they are not mic'ed

  • @EskilNaige

It must be the original drum track for the recording. Or at least sampled like on the record.

  • @Imrez I very much doubt that. I'm guessing overheads and kick mic, as mentioned above.

  • @EskilNaige

Overheads tend to sound a bit more spacey, and every drum sounds absolutely perfect and isolated in this video. That's why my guess is that Hannes is playing over the recorded track which is synced with this video. The original track was even slowed down for Hannes to play over it.

  • @Imrez: One can't see the mics, they are hiddwen by cymbals. Oh, kicks are triggered!

  • @EskilNaige good question, i wanna know too

  • @EskilNaige I'd say two overheads and a trigger/bass drum mic

  • @EskilNaige overhead mics. they just use 2 of them and one for the bass

  • Comment removed

  • @EskilNaige coz its fake :D

    lol not :/

  • @EskilNaige The audio you're hearing isn't the playing in the video. If anything this makes it more impressive, since it shows how each and every part has been precisely written and memorized.

  • @ccraven95: No dude, you're wrong. It's the actual audio from this video what you're hearing. Moreover it was a one take - first take. There's a snare mic hidden by the hihat and the overhead mics are not in the picture. Kicks are additionally triggered.

  • @SatanMcCool Woah! Hard too see those. Makes more sense now. I know I've seen alot of covers recently from band's drummers that just throw an album track over a taped session. Well done.

  • Jack Daniels!!!

  • Number 4 haha:D

  • Hannes.. that was awesome! cheers mate
