$1495 for the supercharger. A low mileage Cavalier runs 2,000 to $3,000 in excellent condition. Pretty much a bolt on affair after recalibrating the onboard computer (since this was a factory GM option). So, after a few modest suspension tweaks and a little exhaust and intake work, for anywhere around $4k you can have a 200+hp sedan or coupe in a bulletproof 2.4 motor (they are tough, just not thrilling in stock form) with little work. Pretty smart sleeper if you ask me

I have a cavalier, haven't done much to it, but it's still a nice car for the class it's in. It's been more reliable that almost every car I have had. Frankly, for the class and kind of car it is, it's better than most of the other stuff you can get. It's a cheap car, it gets you around, and it's nice. People do stuff to their cars, no matter what kind, it's customizing.

The Z24 has a 2.4 liter DOHC 4 valve motor putting out 150hp... not bad, but not thrilling. Until you compare it to the ECOTECH... which only has 140hp, but averages 4 to 5 mpg better. You lose 10hp, but gain MPG. So, if you are racing it: Z24 w/the 2.4.

its actually very possible to supercharge a 4 cyl engine for instance the cobalt ss is super charged but they are DOHC im not sure if that has to do with it buti have a quad 4 2.4l cavalier which is a 4 cyl and it has a V shaped head

yup, 03-05 all have the 2.2 ecotec L61 in them. the only difference is about 1% have a bi-fuel 2.2 ecotec. i have an 03 cavalier with a manual transmission and one of the "do it yourself" cold air intakes and it is pretty nice for a 4 cyl.

I own a 1999 Cavy and I am planning on dropping a 350 small block in it sideways. The engine has 500 horse right out of crate. Then I plan on putting either a twin turbo charger or a super charger on it. Then headers, true quad exhaust. I'm going to put as much carbon fiber on it as I can remove all unnecessary weight put racing seats in it and convert it to rear wheel drive. I figure it will be between 750 & 800 horse

I beat a civic with a K20 in it. I believe that is the same engine that powers the RSX stock. I also took out a Teggy with a B18C5 in it with my Cavi. Its the driver that counts. If they cant shift at the right time, then of course is easy to smoke em, but if they got their shift times dialed in, it can turn the tables.
