When SC was hit, we had no water, we had no ice and we had no communication or facilities what soever and we managed to get things pretty much under control by Christmas.. that is about 3 months. There are parts of New Orleans today that still have not been rebuilt and people still stranded there with absolutely nothing, living in tents.?????????

I have no doubt there were FEMA people doing the best they could under the circumstances, but part of your intelligence gathering in a situation like that is depending on the media for information and any good disaster response manager would tell you that. Anyone who took 5 minutes to look at the news reports would have recognized there were people at the convention center that needed help. It wouldn't have taken much to air drop supplies.

Actually, it's if you earn $250K and, having your taxes raised a coupla percentage points back to where it used to be is hardly a "punishment". And sorry, even in 1906 the government stepped in to help San Francisco rebuild. They had to. SF was the financial capital of the west coast at the time. Can't disagree with N.O. having a corrupt gov't though. But, then again, if the fed gov't can't be relied on in times like that, why exactly do we even have a fed gov't? Again, FEMA dropped the ball.
