I have finally... just read the last novel to complete the set - all of his novels and short stories. The greatest storyteller alive. So underated, I dont know anyone else personally who has read his work - unbelievable.
@MegaFingers88 I've only read his travel books, all of which I love. I want to get started on some of his fiction. Where would you recommend that I start?
@bobbels101 I dont know where to start, they are so varied, there's not a duffer amongst them. Suggest.. Fong & the Indians, Girls at Play, Kowloon Tong, Hotel Honolulu, The Family Arsenal, the two linked short stories follow on from each other but in diff locations - The Consul's File & The London Embassy, . When you've read a few then tackle My Other Life which is fictional autobiographical although denied as being I think.
Paul (Te-rooh) will unfortunately never receive the coveted Nobel prize in Literature. But he is a good author, techically and damn good script writer "The Mosquito Coast" . Hollywood screenplays, written like novels. His best work remains the Great Railway Bazaar. Hands down.
I love his accent...a nice transatlantic accent.

It always appears writers, being rather solitary creatures, are uneasy doing these kind of interiews.
