  • @AleMayaOM yeah, i´m sorry she's not suck , but i just thought she was really bad in this song, close to Rufus and the people there...

  • Rufus : I cried

    His friend : good

    his sister: sucks...

  • @ClaraaandFee martha does not suck :(

  • This whole documentary is so amazing! Leonard Cohen, Musical Genius!

  • See.. Women ruin everything -.-...

  • @Titakoooo :O sexist :O loljkjk

  • I like Wainwright's version, but the one woman in this video looks as if she is suffering from a major bellyache. It kind of ruins the effect.

  • i also prefer him singing alone but no matter - his voice is great and so is his look ;)

  • I like it better when he sings it by himself. Much better...lol

  • beautifully sung by a beautiful man

  • David's greatness shines in both his ability to take responsibility for his actions and the humility of his admission and the repentance that follows.

David realizes that the death of the baby and later the revolt of his beloved son, were divine punishment and also served as atonement for his actions. David "pays his dues," repents for many years and is ultimately forgiven by God.

  • Furious at what he hears, King David, declares, "As God lives, the one who has done this deserves death."

Responds the prophet, "You are that man!"

David is humbled. "I have sinned before God," he says.

  • David sends for Bathsheba and spends the night with her. When she becomes pregnant, he commands that Uriah be placed on the front lines, where he dies in battle. David then marries Bathsheba.

At this point, the prophet Nathan is sent by God to reprove David. (See 2 Samuel 12.) He says that he has come to inform the king of a great injustice in the land. A rich man with many sheep, stole the one beloved sheep of a poor man, and had it slaughtered for a feast.

  • The story begins in 2 Samuel 11:1:

Restless one night, David is pacing the roof of his palace from where he has a view of the homes and gardens in the city below(3). And there he sees a beautiful woman bathing. She is the wife of one of his generals, Uriah, the Hittite, who is away at war.

  • Das ist meine absolute Lieblingsversion dieses großartigen Songs.

    Danke!

  • this song really has you

  • Thanks for posting these great videos! I used to own this tribute concert on DVD, but I think my ex-husband got it in the divorce. Now I haven't been able to find it anywhere! Leonard Cohen is such a beautiful poet. And these 3 together just bring this song to a whole new level!

  • Such a contrast in his talking to his singing. His talking is the "hello i'm wufuth" kinda voice. But then with the song. A testament to how beautiful it is. The audience does one of those "We love you" cheers, but then cuts away really quick to let him keep going.

  • oh gott der lisbelt voll-.-

  • gosh when was this? he seems so young, and modest lol hes not as cocky here. 'hi im rufus' lol very cute hair too :¬)martha looks different as well L O V E them both

  • It works really well with the tree of them. Even better than Rufus alone.

  • Lovely. Best version of this song. I think the lyric is "holy dove" not " holy dark," though. Thanks for posting.
