  • FUUUU . I'VE GOT BONEY FINGERS BUT GAHHH TT____TT I KEEP FAILING . I hate my pinkie .

  • thanks :D

  • dude come on how will this help beginners? put the tabs in or some shit man. explain it better. geeze.

  • I think my fingers are too small and just inadequate to play this damn chord.

  • yeah.thanks for teachin me........big help

  • The problem isn't making the barre chord -- the problem (for me anyway) is moving to that chord from another chord - from first position A major, for example. There are thousands of little tutorials like this purporting to help people with barres, but they only show the barre chords in isolation - it's getting to them without missing a beat (or two) that poses difficulty, not just making the barre.

  • Is there n easier way?

  • it wouldve helped if u had used words

  • thank u !

  • how did this get 31,390 views?!

  • I guess because 32,390 people do not know how to do a freakin B Minor chord.

  • unfortunately

  • he knows what the people want YEAH GO ON, WE NEED MORE NICKEEBOY YOU ROCK

  • try the other way; press the three fingers holding the single notes. Pluck those 3 strings to hear a good sustain note. Then add in the barre with the index finger. The finger tip should hold down string 6 and 5 (the thickest two) and the lower part of the index finger holds down string 1 (thinnest). Looking at it, you will see that your index finger is slightly curved. Strum all strings, it should sound clear. Don't worry about it being difficult, Barres on fret 1 and 2 need practice.

  • ummmm hi I have been trying to learn this chord for the longest I see it everywhere but I just cant get the part where you have to put your index finger across all the strings and It has no kind of sound when I try to play it all it sounds like is you taking the palm of you hand and holding and the strings down its has no kind of pretty chord sound Please Help Me Anyone!!! Thanks

  • Same here lol

  • Asked to play a song in school and have 1 day to get this chord perfect :P

  • how did it go?

  • It went fine, this other class challenged us to a sing off then and me and my friend had to play in it and we won :D

  • umm, this might sound stupid... but are there any other ways of playing it do you know? i have a double-jointed little finger and i just can't play this chord

  • huh its sounds not the same on my guitar ..

  • can't you play it as 799777?

  • yes u can, ur way is playing an Em shape moved up 7 frets to a B while his way is playing a Am shaped moved up 1 fret to a B

  • Its a bar chord

  • ..ohh..so dats how it goes!!

..kinda hard putting my fingers in place thou..

  • I can't put my index finger accross all the strings, i've been playing for about 7 years =(

  • 7 years?! you got to be kidding! I play about 6 months until now and I bare chord perfectly.. ! just practice 1-2 daily and you'll get great result

  • ive been playing for 2 months and its still pretty hard lol, i have fat fingers. it sucks rofl.

  • i cant hold my index finger solid across all six strings!(ive been playing for 7 weeks)

    can u help me plz

  • It might take 2 to 6 months to get stronger fingers and hands. Just practice everyday 30mins. Don't give up. Find a couple of chord progressions and keep practicing the changes, maybe your favorite songs.

  • You can try to barre the fret with the 1st finger just directly behind the fret. Shift your finger about or turn it few degrees to the outside. That might help. If you noticed, in a barre, we use the area just under the side of the finger to press down the strings.

  • Maybe a set of light gauge strings (lower tension), together with a lower action (lower string height), might make things happen a little faster. Providing you with some motivation.

  • Yeah make sure you just behind teh fret that makes it a lot easier!

    x

  • thanks that has helped me out alot

  • is your index finger solid across all 6 strings?

  • Not in this example. As a practice try to keep the first finger on all the stings and press them down as a barre; strumming indiviual strings will sound clear. That will help build a stronger grip. You might want to do that when you switch quickly between Bm, Bm7, Bsus2.

  • In practical application, when I slide up and down the frets (eg:Bm to C#m) I only press sting 1, 5 and 6 down, because my other fingers are holding down the other strings. You can hold chords anyway you want; as long as you feel comfortable.

  • thamks man!

  • I also have trouble with the 6th string.

  • I like how you make it look so easy.

  • Thanks. This is helpful but this chord is rather difficult to play. I have trouble with the 6th string.

  • Thankyuu :]]

And just to say, you have really nice fingers.

  • Yes thank you so much

  • man tanx!!
