Not sure why the #1 comment is saying this looks better then WoW. maybe when it came out in 2004 or something But if you actually turn the graphics up on WoW its a great looking game. As if graphics actually mattered for something.

I wish people understood the difference between a games art work, and the games ability to render graphics, art work is how things look ie player models, boss design etc while the games graphics is the ability to render that on the screen at certain quality. if a game has "bad" graphics all that means is a certain level of detail couldn`t be showen on the screen, bad art on the other hand is badly drawn objects, in which both this game and wow has very little it mainly comes down to your taste
Stop saying WoW copied this or DDO copied that or GW copied them. You know what, they all copied EQ plain and simple. EQ was the first HUGE MMORPG full immersible 3d world. Be thankful you dont have to play EQ. As most of you would've given up. It was a serious hard game with serious consequences for fuqqin up. Death ws an actual issue and you tried everything not to die or let anyone else die as death had huge penaltys.

with wow, every expansion has made it less and less group and raid oriented and now its over supporting playing it by yourself, if you play wow pro, you know what im talking about
this game, you wanna get anything done past halfway to the level cap, you have to have a compitent and balanced group

In vanilla everything was cool..
Then Burning Crusade came out and we all were like "Lets kill Illydan" (as i remember thats the name)
after some time The lich king came out.. I was old enough for the game and one of the best resto druids in server.. i was playing like 8-10 hours every single day and 12-14 hours every friday/saturday.. But after some patches it became boring... so i quitted.. and now cataclysm sux too so DDO time
@gmskate8 ddo is fucking boring.. im happy for changing my mind and downloaded Runes of Magic.. IT ROCKS im only 10lvl and its awesome .. with DDO i bored my life..
One of the reasons I like this game so much out of most MMOs is that it isn't the simple EQ style of "walk, click to attack, loot, walk, click, loot", this game is more like the regular game of D&D where you have more skills than just healing, attacking and defending. This game is actually different from other MMOs and yet is still fun.
It's too bad Turbine had a hard time selling this game when it first came out :/ But then again, the poor sales are what led to this awesome game being f2p :D
@minibikedod the best mmo used to be dark age of camolot i think ddo is based of that wish they would remake daoc because it was the best pvp mmo and with the expanshions their was so much to do lots of places to go but no1 plays and its still pay to play
@Alteonify Have You played Cataclysm? On my computer it is... And I'm running DDO on max graphics, but WoW only on Fair (Good, High and Ultra are better) and already on that graphic setting the texture sharpness and resolution are far better than that of DDO's HD graphics...
@eiderez really now thats why this game looks like its right out the 70s perhaps you have never actually played WoW or Rift a game that actually has harder content,and has nicer graphics all around a better game but hey if ur bad at pvp and pve this is the game for you.

@eiderez so u played the game because it was filled up with stupid immature gamers, and ur a reviewer who enjoys smooth gameplay and disapproves the bad community. and the game was recently updated with 4.2.0 "rage of the firelands" which added tons of new quests, new raids, etc etc. and 2 months ago they released 4.1 "rise of the zalandari". that also added tons of new content. and 2 months ago they patched it to 4.06a, and another 2 months before and another. and these are only the major ones.
@eiderez i just read one of ur first comments and i wasnt here yet about the devs. before i played wow i played the trial version. and when i tried to go to another place where a loading screen is supposed to pop out (i forgot where i was going srry) the game crashed. the next time i logged in i couldnt get on my character anymore. so i logged on my sec character, and asked for an admin reply using the thingy on the top left of the screen.
@eiderez and after 5 mins, she replied in the most formal way and fixed my night elf character, and in just 30 secs i was able to go on my other character again. and i was using a TRIAL ACCOUNT.
@KvasirHalo i pointed the devs theme cz the game is geeting to old and they doesnt help it. there are many people that stopped wow cz of that reason. i mean they could make it a lot better with the tools they own but they dnt
@eiderez and they update every week for bug fixes. shouldnt u know these things since ur a reviewer? and many people stopped playing videogames other than wow because of being too old. but wow, they get major patches in 2 months time, bugfix patches everyweek, and a major expansion every 2 years. what more can u ask for?
@eiderez th reason why the engine is outdated as fuck is because blizzard wants everyone with no matter how crappy their computers are can play. same goes with starcraft. the graphics of the game arent top notch, but yet its one of the best games of 2010 since everyone can use it, and ofcourse, its starcraft xD

@Ny4ppy Of course it has better graphics than WoW, WoW is two years older than DDo. WoW has a timeless art style that doesn't require good graphics, the game is not realistic in the slightest and does not try to be.Its graphics are fine for what it set out to accomplish, and WoW has never been an eyesore. As far as gameplay, both games are fantastic (I level capped in both), but neither are comparable. WoW is a hotkey based MMo, DDo is a Hack'n'Slash MMo, both have good gameplay.
@Ny4ppy lol as well as better gameplay and class design imo its not as "cookiecutter" and the dungeons arent a complete faceroll... this game holds my intrest far longer than wow nowadays :D
hey... can someone write on ddo's forums about the fact that we can't create free accounts ?? there are quite a lot of us who can't make one, all from different countries... it would be appreciated, by us and by them, since they probably don't know about this error, and us who want to try the game.
hopefully someone will post about this, or atleast send a message to a dev or moderator... we can't do it, since you need an account to log in on the forums.

@CrasyDwarf i just tried it, and it ask me to write my mail and my account name (the one used to log-into the game).
I'm trying for 4 days now, each day multiple times from different browsers, with different e-mail and username, but it keeps giving me an error, i hope they fix it soon.
@muiebozgorilor m8, just log into whatever email provider you use (i use hotmail), create a new email explaining the situation and send it to "accountsupport@turbine.com". You are most likely going into their support page and using the email template they provide (which indeed asks you for your game info)

@eiderez unlike most mmos where male players harass females due to their rarity. second, wow instances are VERY CHALLENGING. my bro wasted more than 3 weeks of his life just to kill the lich king. i remember him screaming at 3 am when i finally killed him. im not saying whatever game u like isnt challenging, but stop ranting and just play what u like to play as we play what we like to play.

@KvasirHalo and secondly i have played wow for 4 years and i felt the gameplay deep into me. no it still lacks a lot things compared to many many other mmos and it makes me feel nasty when i hear people saying things about other mmos without actually trying them. im an experienced mmo player and i work for making reviews in pc game magazines and its my line to see whats the best. and no wow in its current state isnt good at all.they can do a whole lot more for it if they decide to

@eiderez so u played the game because it was filled up with stupid immature gamers, and ur a reviewer who enjoys smooth gameplay and disapproves the bad community. and the game was recently updated with 4.2.0 "rage of the firelands" which added tons of new quests, new raids, etc etc. and 2 months ago they released 4.1 "rise of the zalandari". that also added tons of new content. and 2 months ago they patched it to 4.06a, and another 2 months before and another. and these are only the major ones.

@eiderez i just read one of ur first comments and i wasnt here yet about the devs. before i played wow i played the trial version. and when i tried to go to another place where a loading screen is supposed to pop out (i forgot where i was going srry) the game crashed. the next time i logged in i couldnt get on my character anymore. so i logged on my sec character, and asked for an admin reply using the thingy on the top left of the screen.

@eiderez and they update every week for bug fixes. shouldnt u know these things since ur a reviewer? and many people stopped playing videogames other than wow because of being too old. but wow, they get major patches in 2 months time, bugfix patches everyweek, and a major expansion every 2 years. what more can u ask for?

@eiderez th reason why the engine is outdated as fuck is because blizzard wants everyone with no matter how crappy their computers are can play. same goes with starcraft. the graphics of the game arent top notch, but yet its one of the best games of 2010 since everyone can use it, and ofcourse, its starcraft xD

@Ny4ppy Of course it has better graphics than WoW, WoW is two years older than DDo. WoW has a timeless art style that doesn't require good graphics, the game is not realistic in the slightest and does not try to be.Its graphics are fine for what it set out to accomplish, and WoW has never been an eyesore. As far as gameplay, both games are fantastic (I level capped in both), but neither are comparable. WoW is a hotkey based MMo, DDo is a Hack'n'Slash MMo, both have good gameplay.

hey... can someone write on ddo's forums about the fact that we can't create free accounts ?? there are quite a lot of us who can't make one, all from different countries... it would be appreciated, by us and by them, since they probably don't know about this error, and us who want to try the game.
hopefully someone will post about this, or atleast send a message to a dev or moderator... we can't do it, since you need an account to log in on the forums.

I'm trying for 4 days now, each day multiple times from different browsers, with different e-mail and username, but it keeps giving me an error, i hope they fix it soon.

@muiebozgorilor m8, just log into whatever email provider you use (i use hotmail), create a new email explaining the situation and send it to "accountsupport@turbine.com". You are most likely going into their support page and using the email template they provide (which indeed asks you for your game info)
