Personally, I think this is ridiculous. I mean it really is a great song (the original), but seriously, this downtempo, quiet, overly emotional whispering just kills it. And of course, the unavoidable, painful expression... No, this song is tragic in a much more complex way.. singing it slow and painful just takes away its whole charm. Just an honest opinion.

It's just his interpretation. You don't have to like it, but to refer to it as "butchering" is really harsh.

I feel that most of the beauty of this song lies in the fact that it's a bit rough; you made it soft and cuddly. Think of how ironic it is to sing the word "harsh" softly. The effects on your voice I'm not very fond of.. especially because if you hit any note just barely sharp or flat, then it resonates and ruins the entire phrase. Your piano playing is fantastic however.

I like this version, but in no way is it better than Regina's version. They are both completely different from each other, and are both great in they're own respects.

Regina has a very good way at expression the emotion, too. It's just you both express different ones in these two versions, and both re very respectable.

Actually you've slowed the tempo down a lt but you know it works for you and I find the song to be far more expressive at this tempo. She is so "perky", you aren't. This is perfect and I don't think I would have you change it all. I once again like your version better and that seems to be becoming a trend. You have a gift for really expressing emotion in the lyrics of a song. I "feel" your music and that is what I personally need. Once again, excellent work here.
