@Lippelfisch if you look more drag races with the srt8 then you see that the jeep always has a "low"speed at the end of the track, so its just the start where the heavy 4x4 has much more grip then other cars witch have problems to get their power on the street like the 1100 hp ford with 344km/h after 1 mile ....

yeah most people forget that the jeep is shaped like a brick. so when you hit speeds of 130mph and up the drag is unreal. i dont know why people are so surprised that an aerodynamically engineered vehicle that weighs 1000 pounds less catches up to the jeep srt8's in the top end...

bad starts for both cars. the jeep usually runs low 32's. this time it ran 34? since they both had bad starts (well..the mercedes had a worse start than the jeep) it was a more even race.

It's all about getting the HP to the wheels. Also Aerodynamics don't come into play till 80 Mph.

I think the jeep has more torque and with the permanent 4wd it's faster @ start. It's rather heavy so it will lose on acceleration @ high speed and/or top speed

@Lippelfisch if that jeep has 700hp it would destroy this so badley your head would spin 360 around like the exorsist.. maby do your homework.. stock thease are a 6.1 hemi 420hp and 420ft/tq.. the best 0-60 time i seen was 4.4 stock.. most run 4.7 they will run high 12's with a simple cold air intake and top out stock at 165mph.. the srt600 by johnh hennessey is 620hp and will hit 0-60 in 3.5 , 1/4mile is gone in mid 11,s and has a top speed of 180mph.. so with 700hp.. it should be around 3.2 to

@Lippelfisch I believe the jeep is 4 wheel drive and the 7 litre engine produces alot of torque so its very fast off the line. Not bad for an american car really. Im actually impressed. But only a dickhead would buy one. Based on a SUV its certain that the jeep has no cornering ability. And its not very nice either.

@2Str0k3 Jeep's are VERY nice. Very luxurious if you ask me. Mine handles pretty well, and definitly can get off the line in a hurry. It feels planted and firm at 160+mph. Mine only has a street tune, tires, intake, exhaust and a chip but I haven't seen tail lights yet! :)
