  • Some people are hard in their coments. Yes is one half tone lower, but it's realy not that bad. Yes compared with Corelli he is not at the same level, but how if we compare him to Dominguin?

  • Il Trovatore in post war Europe - again! It's just as well the dress and stage are so dark and obscure since the hero's friends (and family) have agendas! But Alagna really looks happy here.

  • Not bad. Much better version than he sang elsewhere. Good that he transposed down, that way he does not apply so much pressure on the voice and it sounds much more natural.

  • What I can see of this production it is both ridiculously under-lit and oversized. If the director's idea is to denigrate the singers by making them sing in the dark and look tiny and insignificant, he has succeeded.

  • No me gusta la interpretación, ni vocalmente, ni teatralmente. La letra dice "Corro a salvarti" y el Sr. Alagna parece pensar: "Bueno, voy lentamente a salvarte, pero antes estaré un buen rato mirando al público"

  • avrei preferito come l'ha scritta il maestro Verdi con lp'acuto finale in La, ma cantato decentemente ,no da gallinaccio strozzato.Ed anche quì applaudono, incompetenti ma perchè non si ascoltano qualche buon vinile prima di andare al teatro, invece di mostrare l'abito firmato. Abbiamo toccato il fondo.

  • Per te è più facile il DO, ma per tutti coloro che preferiscono fare un SI cosa è più facile? Non si può fare di un'eccezione la regoa. Se si è sempre usato abbassare la cabaletta di mezzo tono ci sarà pure un motivo!

Anyone who has ever walked in the foot steps of any perfomer, performing at the highest level would not criticise anyone - there are a lot of knockers on youtube, and most of them wouldn't know what they are talking about and will never set step on any REAL stage....i'm not a fan of Alagna, but i know how hard it is...everyone has their own personal taste, if you like him, that's great...

His singing is, in general very, very good aside from a true tenorial habit of sharping high notes.   • Alagna must think he has Corelli's voice. Anyway he's totally loosing his voice, it's a shame because he used to sing beautifully as Rodolfo Romeo and other lyric roles.

  • Actually, this is one of the better Alagna performances I've heard. The production was ghastly, and that smile he smacks on his face post b-natural is amateurish, but otherwise, for Alagna, very well done.

  • Personalmente no me gusta la voz de Alagna, pero me sorprendio al tener la osadia de cantar esta aria y aparte cantarla mas abajo del tono original, deberia estar cantando en el coro o fuera del escenario, porque conozco estudiantes que la cantan mejor que el, la verdad no se acerca nada a la grandeza de la version de Pavarotti. De hecho nisiquiera se acerca a ser algo descente para el sueldazo que gana.

  • Todos los tenores la cantan medio tono en vivo para no esponerse, y donde estan esos estudiantes?? cantarian la Pira igual despues de cantar toda la Opera?? Pavarotti nunca fue el Manrico correcto, una nota no hace el personaje, deberias escuchar otros Manricos antes de mencionar a Pavarotti en esto.

  • Por supuesto que una nota no hace el personaje, el personaje lo hace la interpretacion de toda la opera, correcto, pero verdi no la habria escrito asi si no pudiese ser cantada.

    No se de donde eres, pero de haber escuchado al tenor ganador del concurso de morelia no pensarias asi.

    Mi punto es que en comparacion con Pavarotti, esta version es algo pobre...

  • Verdi no la escribio que te quede eso claro, fue el tenor Enrico Tamberlick el primero en hacer la tradicion del Di agudo, quien antes pidio el permiso de Verdo para hacerlo.

    A lo que me refiero es que si se puede cantar, claro que depende del talento del tenor mas que nada y como tu acabas de decir, hay quienes lo han hecho desde hace mucho tiempo y la verdad yo no pagaria por ver a un tenor que no puede hacerlo asi...

  • Trovatore es una Opera muy dificil, la tesitura de Manrico se mueve mas en la linea Centro agudo, es por eso que siempre se le designa a un Tenor Spinto, pero con esta tradicion del Do agudo en La Pira, se convierte esta Cabaletta en algo tan complicado para un Spinto porque no es su Nota de explocion y en la actualidad hay una escases de estos Tenores a estos niveles, es por eso que este tipo de roles los abordan los tenores liricos como Alagna, no hay que ser tan cerrado. yo si pago por verlo.

  • Bueno me sorprende un poco de que no te guste Alagna, pues a exepcion de esta puesta que esta extraña, siempre se le ve muy bien escenicamente, y la voz ni se diga, y bueno de los tenores que tenemos en mexico hay muy pocos con gran voz, sobre todo los tenores del centro y sur de mexico que tienen una voz chica y debil , no mencienos tenores del sur por lo menos, aca nos gusta la potencia maestros!!!... y al fin de cuentas Alagana es Alagna simplemente el mejor tenor esta generacion
