wonderful, have you seen an episode of the tv series masters of horror called the black cat? in that episode this song is performed by poe's wife on piano and voice, do you have any idea of who could it be? or where can I get a vocal version of this? Ive been searching the whole web but nothing comes out

it's ok, did you like the episode? I see you're a big Poe fan. I think that little performance was beautiful and I thought there should be a full version recorded of the song but I think it will never come out, what a shame

I liked it, even though there might've been some issues with the direction. Anyway, to me Poe is such a mysterious person it's pretty hard to watch anyone acting as him. I liked the references to his personal life and work although the overall feel was a bit messy because of it I guess. The style reminded me a bit about Nikolaj Frobenius's novel 'Jeg skal vise dere frykten' which also mixes Poe's life and work (recommended!). I guess the upcoming John Cusack film is based on it (oh dear...).

@ikomplex - I, too, would like a full version. I wonder whether the actress sang that or lip synched (it looked like the latter to me). In either case, very nice singing and a very tasteful arrangement that fits that period of history.
