@jc333jc of course there is less than 1,5000,000 views theres not that many people in the world with the sense to look it up but many more times that in morons
@elHombredeHumo Yeah it seems so because it goes quieter and more distant at points where his back is turned or the camera is lower than him, sounds fantastic even live though.
A couple of years ago Gerry Anderson played the full version on his morning Radio Foyle/ Ulster show, and I just sat dumb founded the whole way through, and I thought this is brilliant, Justin really should have wider recognition.
@jdavewilk69 he deserves much more recognition, i agree. del amitri and justin currie are fabulous. ive been listening to them since i was born (sixteen years ago) and ive always felt that they should be more widely known.
ok, the way i see it is that it's not a call for people to surrender, but simply a statement made by someone who already has surrendered. kind of explaining to the world what made him surrender. the solution he found for himself to all that mess he describes is "surrender".
one of a million possible ways to look at it, i know. :)
Amazing to think this was originally recorded in 2006, so much of whats in the lyrics is still relevant in early 2009. Excellent idea to have the vocal 'live' on the video. A brilliant closing song from an the near perfect 'What is Love For' album
He outdid John Mayall here. A hard-hitting song, the hardest hitting I've heard in years. Last time I heard something like this was the Caifornia thing by RHCP. Beautiful poetry, very relevant, about "...god squads...blinded by divinity...car caressing mgrs..." I'm glad I don't have a car. He looks lonely without Iain Harvie though.
This song seems to be more poigniant now than ever before. I will never surrender. From a northern Californian surfer, peace to all the good people of Scotland.
he did sing it again. if you compare this to the album version, you'll notice subtle differences. he's an ace singer. that's all there is to it. simples. ;-D
very cool, the way the audio of justin's voice becomes louder and more distant as the camera nears or moves away from his face; sure looks and sounds like he sang this live. me likey. : )
Not many songs are better than this ;)

I know it isn't, the message is, sometimes its better to not risk it, it's not worth it, but thats not something I believe in.

Of course the lyrics are still relevant; 2006 was only 2 and a half years ago. I've had stuff in my fridge freezer longer than that.

Brilliant Vocals and Words.
I wonder how they got the natural ambience
sound of the vocals on the video.
It sounds like he sang it again live while they were shooting, wich i doubt.
However they did it.
This is Top League!

Big Macs for the fat, lo-cal wraps for the call centre battery hens,
Japanese snacks for the choice-spoilt citizens, caviar kickbacks for the citadel denizens.
Airport shoeshines servicing the suits among the little silver stereos and hand-rolled cheroots,
First class passengers file on last after the scum are packed in with their tax-free loot.
lol thats all i was able 2 fit in :/ i just love the lyrics :D
