Firkins achieves that rubbery sound (that Jason Becker also utilized) by keeping one hand constantly on the bar. It makes him an excellent stand-in for pieces like this. I hope they utilize him in the future. I wonder if that was him doing the arpeggios? I've never heard Firkins do anything like that outside of this song.

Firkins did an excellent job of representing Jason's style! His guitar even sounds similar trebley,midish, like jason's blue carvin. Interesting how Firkins uses his left hand, more of a classical way guitar technique I think.
